John Deere 4115
:mad:JOHN DEERE Compact Tractor 4115

Freak Accident??? Some-how a stick, tree (3 inch piece of wood about 6 foot long) wedged itself through both power steering hoses. Then I went to make a turn not knowing about this. The end of the stick tree then twisted my hoses breaking them and causing a leak. This is not the problem! Getting it fixed is the problem.

I am a 70 year old man with congested heart failure. There is not much I can do without running out of breath. My JOHH DEERE Dealer towed it on a flat bed for repair. Now mind you this JOHN DEERE Dealer owns four (4) Dealerships within 100 miles. Not a fly by night Dealer by any means of the imagination.

The Dealer started the repair on September 20th of this year of 2010. He has not been able to acquire the hoses to make this repair. The JOHN DEERE web site says they do not have any in stock and they are on back order!!! My Dealer said he has tried to contact JOHN DEERE in an attempt to find out how long of a delay they may be on back order. He has not been able to speak to anyone who could answer this. They tell him they will have someone return his calls which they never do!!!

:confused:Is there some reason why??? Do I have the only 4115 on earth??? Do the Power Steering Hydraulic hoses fit ONLY the 4115??

I think I made an error since when a JOHN DEERE breaks down you must REPLACE it!!! You may be assured it will not be another JOHN DEERE, WAITING SINCE SEPTEMBER 20, 2010

Does anyone have any suggestions.:confused3::newhere:

Are your JD hose connectors unique to JD ?
If they're not , get the Dealer to get connectors
and hydraulic hose from a hydraulic repairer .
Three weeks is a long time to wait in the US
for US components . This is the time-frame we
wait in Australia for air-freight . I've waited 4
weeks for a HST cover-plate for the fan , shipped
from Japan. Welcome to the rest of the World;)

OK . Just read this and answers on another post on this forum.
Can't believe the Dealer hasn't got the wit to get
you something suitable from the JD range .
I've got JDX500/700 spacers on the rears of my BX ; that's
what I call a dealer's suggestion , when they can be bothered.
Start bitchin' and get some results . Phone some other
Dealers for advice and alternative JD model suitability.

The squeaky wheel gets the grease. Become the squeakiest wheel that dealer has ever seen. Consider going to their showroom every day to 'check progress' and then make sure you get into a conversation about the trouble you're having with as many of their other customers as possible.

First of all, I apologize, I am new to tractors and don't own a John Deere. With this said, been searching online.

I looked up your power steering system on the John Deere website (at least it says it is :) ).

It looks like there are 3 power steering lines that are probably made out of metal
and an oil cooler.

Click here: John Deere - Parts Catalog

2. Enter your Model Number in the top left corner, example: 4115
3. Click Find
4. Click on the link that starts with 2917 - "2917 - 4115 Compact Utility Tractor - 16Apr09"
5. Click on the "Alphabetical Index" link
6. Click on the "P" link
7. Click on the "POWER STEERING LINES" link

At this point, you should have a browser that's kind of divided up into 3 locations. An index in the left top-half, a picture in the right top-half and
part number/description of part panel at the bottom with numbers on it.

8. Click on the "Enlarge Picture" link in the top right-side box.

There are a few parts that look like hoses that could be snapped:

Grab the parts number from the bottom section and then check out these
sites:

John Deere Parts for Lawn Tractors, Gators, Walk Behind Mowers and all John Deere Equipment, including ag equipment.

GreenPartStore - Parts for John Deere Lawn Tractors, John Deere Lawn & Garden Tractors, John Deere Mowers, John Deere Attachments, John Deere Accessories

Disclaimer: I have never dealt with either of these websites, nor am I affiliated with them in any way, shape or form. They may be awesome, or they may be horrible.

Good luck :)

I'm not sure where you are from (you didnt fill out your profile)....but it may be a case of harvest time at your dealer.

I live in a heavy agricultural area....and when harvest time hits (like now) these dealership service departments get VERY busy....and don't get it all done in a day. That said....its still not an excuse to get the hoses on order and keep you posted.

As said....many hydraulic shops can make the needed hoses. BUT....I broke a hose on my old 790 loader...and a pretty sizable hydraulic shop lacked the proper stuff to get me up and running again. Some of the smaller size fittings are pretty rare to stock....but they could sure get them pretty quick IMO. (It's surprising that JD does not have the right hoses for this in a warehouse somewhere.) :confused2:

Every now and then life throws you a curve ball. Call the manager...tell him your story....and hope he does the right thing. Hang it there!
