If they do anything like Toyota did with the FJ cruiser it'll be a total waste. The FJ cruiser was a total joke and clearly made to appeal to soccer moms and was nothing like the real FJ40 land cruiser.

When we test drove one, I only went 2 miles and pulled off the road and asked Terry if she wanted to drive back? She said no. We went back to the dealer.

The thing that still sticks in my mind the most. The tailgate swings like a door. The hinges are on the driver's side. Think about that for a few seconds..........

Yeah, the Jeep heritage is a mixed bag for sure!!!!

Is that Everest model a rebadged Explorer?? Is that a European offering?

I figured if Ford came thru with the Bronco it would need something unusual in it's line to squeeze into the small gap available with their other models??
It's from Australia. 216 Ford Everest, 7 Seater Family SUV | Ford Australia
I see Ford is saying it won't be a tweaked Everest, which makes sense too. It will be a little more of a redesign for the U.S. just like the Ranger will be. But the Everest is built on the same base as the Ranger. 4 doors, seating 7 people. Larger than the old Ranger size (which is where the Explorer came from), so seems to be a level above the current Explorer. More truck like but I'd call it a comfortable road SUV that's capable of some relatively rough off roading like a truck. But not a purpose built crawler. That's just my take on it all from what I have read. I'm sure their direction will change 7 times between now and when it shows up. ;)

Ford's lineup seems so crowded that it will either need to be very unique or someone will have to go. :)

Just hope they don't do what Chrysler did with the Jeep Cherokee. It ended a very successful run. Then was reintroduced and doesn't even come close to honoring the name. Pretty sad.

You can't see out of the things, it was like sitting in a cave fer pity sake. The things are completely worthless off road. I watched as some clown totally destroyed a brand new one on the Rubicon a few years ago. Of course nether he nor the FJ had any business being on the trail.

The visibility is why I stopped and turned around. I was shocked by it.

We buddied up with a couple going over Black Bear and Imogene passes in Colorado few years ago that was driving one. It was modified with a mild lift and larger tires. My TJ was similarly equipped. Nothing to really test a vehicle there. Even though we did have to shovel the trail open in one spot where a mudslide had closed it. But I enjoyed visiting with him about the Cruiser. He complained a lot about the lack of visibility when wheeling.

I mean no offense here. So please, just read my post and then delete it from your memory..... :)

These press releases are so BS.

Unless you have the Chairman of Ford Motor Company quoting something in regards to the new Bronco I give it no credit. :)

Sorry ovrszd, but I do not have any pictures of it to share. There's really not much to take a picture at this time, but here is a few pictures of some of the other projects that we have worked on.

We also drove an FJ - wife liked the look of it, drove it a few miles and told them thanks but the visibility was so poor we were not interested. I liked the look of it a lot more than the RAV4 she decided to get but I'm sure the FJ would have been an insurance nightmare for me if we would have got it.....
