Ford 4630

My ford 4630 will not get fuel to feeder screw. squirts out a small bit occasionally. cranks off starting fluid. was wroking ok untill i changed fuel filter.

Make sure your fuel tank is 1/2 full or better. Even though it will run all the way to empty, bleeding the system requires at least half a tank on the 2-4000 series Fords.

yes it is 3/4 full

You couldn't possibly have gotten the top seal ring in the wrong place on the top of the filter instead in the outer groove of the top cover??? Which would block the fuel.

No I got it where suppose to b. any other suggestions?

take the supply line off and see what you get for fuel. You did not by chance shut the fuel valve on the tank off? I have also seen on diesel trucks where the filter gets air locked, try loosening the filter and using the hand primer

If it is like my 2 4000's it doesn't have a primer. I had one fuel line get plugged up before the filters - blew it back with an air compressor - probably blew the screen off in the tank - don't know, don't care - it has run fine for 2 years since. I have also wiped the filler off and blown into the tank until fuel went through the filters. That probably isn't the right thing to do either but it worked.

Just read the other thread. I would do every thing rick said to do - if that doesn't work ask rick for more ideas.

the 5610 series had a pushbutton primer by the fuelfilter, and putting air in the tank to blow through the filters does not hurt anything, have done it many times
