Loader float sticks

Anyone having a problem with float mode on loader sticking? I have a 4046 and if I push the joystick all the way forward into float I can hardly get it back out.

First check to see if the loader lock lever is engaged. If not the lock, check post #7 in the below thread. May be out of adjustment.

checked everything except for pulling the spool apart. Just seems like something is catching when it goes in. I guess I will have to call the dealer

Does it come out of float when you pull it back and feel a spot you have to push it through or does it not come out of float. If it's the comes out of float and have to push through a spot that is normal.

I have to put both hands on it and jerk it back extremely hard. Almost impossible. I unhooked the cable at the hydraulic unit and had to use a screw driver to pry it back out of float. Its getting worse.

Had trouble with mine staying in float along with locking not staying in. Dealer fixed at 50hrs service, no problem since.

Definitely sounds like a physical, mechanical problem inside the valve itself, or wherever the ball/spring/detent/whatever mechanism is.

Mine does it as well, Gotta jerk it out of float. Haven't pulled the spool apart yet.....

Try pulling the cup(s) off the bottom of the spool(s) and add some grease to the detent parts...

My guess is, its not the spool itself, but the control joystick. Mine was sticking like that, and it needed a little lube.
