Very Interesting discussion:  I have inheireted 2 - 6foot flail mowers.  I think both are Ford's.  The design of the knives are quite a bit different design than the picture shown. They look sort of like upside down T's.  Apparently you can take them off and sharpen them or replace as needed.   I hooked my DK35 up to one and it seemed rotate fine, but when I got into some heavy stuff the belt started slipping and would not cut. Adjusted it out all the way and I think it is still a bit loose.   Looks like both units have been sitting for quite a while.  I was wondering about the feasibity of using this machine on my farm that has some pretty rough ground.  My Dad used these to cut  Baseball/Softball diamonds.  He liked the look of the grass when done.  I think the roller behind and the way it tends to suck the grass up it did a good job of cutting grass.
