Hello
WOW, lot of a good info and really helpful folks on this site! We are from upstate NY and just bought 350 acres of pretty steep mountain land and areas of quite rocky terrian. I'm a bit nervous with the tractor...so want to learn all I can...I'm a 50 year old female and don't want to drive my husband too crazy as I worry:D so I'll try to study and learn. I guess I felt the same way before I learned to shoot...I am now very comfortable with firearms...Hoping knowledge and respect for tractors will also ease my anxieties!
Thanks in advance for all your helpful suggestions and your time in answering folks questions!

Welcome and tell us about your tractor. Make, model, do tires have fluid for ballast, implements and rear wheel width?

These things would be helpful in advising you.

Just a thought? Regarding your description of your land, it would be advisable to keep the ROPS up and your seatbelt on. Welcome aboard from North Carolina. Best wishes.

hi again...
we purchased the workmaster55 yes rops and belt ALWAYS (canopy). Due to our terrain/weather, we purchased heavy duty chains for both back & front tires (agricultural). Dealer's chain were not heavy duty enough so ordered from?? chains everywhere ? i think, via the net....Quite pricey but super quality and i like the safety. I have a serious TIMLEYquestion/concern about backhoe and posted it elsewhere cause rules said "NO questions here".
I'd chat more but i am scouring this forum for an answer to FIVE MONTH NIGHTMARE!!!
I do thank you all for welcoming me but need answer for tomorrow

Welcome to TBN, there are a lot of really useful threads here about operating on slopes and about anything tractor related. I find anytime I get a different tractor it takes a while to get comfortable, but with time comes skill and judgement.
