Firewood pallet

I saw pictures of someone's homemade pallet for storing wood but don't remember what thread it was in. I've gone through the last 400 pages of "Tractors and wood" without finding it. It may have been in a different thread. I don't remember.
The design used one and two inch lumber, the side boards pulled up and out for storage. Whwere there would be one runner on the bottom edge of a conventional pallet, this had two with space between where the outside "walls" fit.
If the original poster or someone else who knows where I can find the posting, I's sure appreciate if you could help me find it again.

I've been using pallets like this for 10 years or so. The first pallet racks I made were built so I could take them apart and break them down flat as I used the wood. I still have the first ones I built this way and they work well but are too much work and cost to keep making. Can't beat pallet...

Pallets rot quickly here. I made these with 2x4's and they have held up well after 14 years..

BX quick attach and Pallet forks from AI2

But the BX with clamp-on forks won't lift one if the wood is not dry. It was always a bit unstable anyway. I now use them with carryall style forks on the 3-point.

Might have been me...
I was looking at what others on the forum were doing with firewood and did not see any racks made this way. The stone quarries use a similar setup, although it's smaller to handle large flat stone. I thought I'd modify it for firewood. Just add a couple of 2x4's to a standard pallet. Cut some slots for uprights and you're done. I figure each pallet holds a little less than 1/4 cord of wood. They come apart for storage and are mostly free.
Thought someone else might use them too!

Good thinking! I like the idea, The pallet supply around here has been scant, unless you are willing to buy new ones.
I do have a ton of rough cut lumber from windfalls that were too nice to burn that I will build pallets, and your design of firewood boxes.

Try ICB totes? The plastic tank is cut diagonally and holes drilled at the ends to accept wire ties to allow it to be fastened on top to shed the snow. I cut a notch on one end (other side of this pic) to allow me to reach in easier.
