Finding appropriate parts

Hello, my name is Norman and I just joined this forum in hopes that someone can help me find the part I need. I have a John Deere 1435 26 HP commercial mower. Recently purchased this unit at auction and it has a cracked cyl. head. It is a 3 cyl, diesel engine The serial # on the mower is T C 1435 D 011334. The engine # is 3010 D 003. The engine ser.# is CH3010 D 102591. I have found a good used head but am not sure if it is correct for this engine. Any help in determining this would be greatly appreciated. If this head will not work , could someone provide the correct head #'s to look for. The john Deere locally is not being very helpful.

Looks like if the serial number is below 060000 it uses AM879210 and 060001 and above uses MIA880090. They show the serial number breakdown as part of the engine so I am assuming they are going by engine serial number and not mower serial number. Hopefully that helps

You can go the the John Deere On Line Parts Catalog to look up this information --- and lots more ---- start by entering your model number and then search alphabetically for "Engine" --- "E"

From what little I know, the engine is a Yanmar 3TNE74. I'm not sure what other deeres use this series.

Maybe this will help you on inquires and searches..
