I've been in the market for a tiller and by chance while talking at work, a friend told me he had an older one in his barn that he would sell for $450 and could even try it out before buying. He brings it over and it's a Befco G50 that's adjustable for offset but it covers my tire tracks perfectly when centered. I changed the oil and greased the fittings then went to work. My tractor is a Kubota B2320 DT and it didn't even seem to notice it attached. Since I didn't break the ground first, I made two passes, cross cutting, and did a real nice job. I'm not sure how deep it will cut but the ground is tilled at least 8-10" deep after the second pass. We've had almost continual storms for over a month so I figured it would be a mud hole since it had only been 2 days since the last rain but the soil looked nice so I continued. If it doesn't rain tomorrow, I'm going to till in some 8-8-8 and let it rest about a week before setting rows. I couldn't find any row hippers (bedders) around here like I wanted so I ordered some from back home in Louisiana from Steven's Tractor and they should be here next week. Anyway, I feel like I got a real blessing finding the tiller and the soil looks nice and black although the top is already dried in the photos.

Great find! I've been looking for a used tiller for a while now, and they seem to be very scarce and almost the price of new when you do find one around here. Happy tilling.

Worked some fertilizer into the ground today and expanded the garden. While doing so I found/unearthed a chain, metal spike, and a long flat blade screwdriver. Glad no damage was done. Afterwards, I hooked the chain to the critters to pull them out . Now if my row hippers would get here.

Do you have a truck garden? How do you weed it all?
