Are you building this in a "quick-attach" style for easy removal when the hoe would e in the way for the other purposes you have for the Terratrac?
Yes. I don't think I'll actually quick detach it much. I'm anticipating the weight will make this machine work much better, and I don't have anything else that would go back there. I also want to preserve the option of mounting it on my compact tractor in the future if the desire arises.

Here is another picture of the subframe with the mainframe attached to it. Things must have gotten a little warped in the final weld-up because I had to tap on the main frame to get it to settle on the pins of the subframe. A little time with a die grinder will probably fix this.

It's a journey resurrecting a 13 year-old project. It's almost like trying to following someone else's incomplete instructions. I had some parts cut out and fabbed in the original push. I'm not sure I remember just how I intended for everything to go together.

Hmm... I'm trying to visualize the placement of the operator's perch. Is this to be a standing model? If so, it could simplify movement between operator's perch of the terratrac and the hoe whenever the digging is done where it stands and advancement is next.

Yeah, I was hoping that once I started putting stuff together the geometry of a seating postition would reveal itself a little better. I'm going to have something above the hydraulic tank, but I'm still working out the details of how to get it there.

Is it feasible to turn the tank around so the "bump-out" tucks under the seat of the Terratrac a little? That way the return hose coming off the filter would route downward and theoretically the seats could then be back to back. Just a starting point for discussion when the time comes.

Funny you mention that. I had JUST wondered that myself last night before turning in for the night. I'll have to look at hose lengths, etc.

Trying to be helpful when I can. I remember how you and others who followed my build offered great advice that doubtless saved me dollars AND pulled hair (tapping the top of my head where there is none).
