most all tractors are tube type tires, must use the valve stem

Interesting that this board only talks about filling through the valve stem and other boards talk about laying the tire on the side then breaking the bead to simply pour the stuff in. Maybe the size of tire matters.

lt seems easier to me to pump the fluid in through the valve stem.

I am picking up 50 gallons of WW fluid this week. Menards has it on sale plus another 11% off. My rear tires should take 22 gallons each. I plan on using the pump on my tow behind sprayer

Thanks to all for your opinions and insights.

I filled my 26x12x12 tires that way. Can't do that with a larger tire.

You'll probably have to "burp" them a couple times. Also, if tubeless, be cautious of allowing the tire to unseat from the rim. Having a jack carrying the weight while leaving the tire setting on the ground helps. Hope all goes well.

Pumping is far easier than fooling around with moving, laying it down - and then picking up a filled tire. Twice. Unless it's some national emergency, I'm not fooling aroud with moving a +500 lb tire, never mind two of them.

Work smarter, not harder.

For $10 plus tax, you can buy a liquid fill tire valve adapter at your local TSC.
All you need then, is a cheap electric transfer pump, a piece of garden hose, and a bit of electricity.
Very easy job!

Green told me today when they do a fill at the dealer/shop, they use an anti-freeze product, NOT Rimguard.

Save the money on the adapter. I bought one at NAPA because I was told on forums it was needed. Never used it. I filled 24" tires with 44 gallons in about 35 minutes and burped the air out of each tire three times by just taking the hose off the valve stem for a bit.

Dumped the WWF into a 15 gallon sprayer tank and use the pump on it. Pretty simple.

After church, we went for breakfast, and when I got home filled the tires on the little JD. Spec. Sheet from RimGuard indicated I needed 22 gallons per tire but I put in 23 in each. That works out to 390 lbs of ballast for a tractor that weighs under 2000 lbs.

Spent $75 between the fill valve and WW fluid (on sale at Menards). I had to jury rig some hoses and fittings but used the pump on my pull behind sprayer. Jacked the tractor so the tires just cleared the floor. It took me about 2 1/2 hrs including clean up. Dealer wanted $250.

Thanks all for your advice.

It probably went so easily because you did it after church instead of during church!:D
