Are FEL mounted plows really ok to use?
I was under the impression that lateral loads such as what a angled plow would generate are to be avoided on a FEL.
Has anyone ever had a issue with this?
What size would be suitable for my B2620 kubota (26hp 4x4).

I have a JD2320 (24hp 4x4) and made the blade in the pics for my loader. The blade is 6 feet wide and 24" tall. I decided not to make it angle to avoid destroying my loader as on these smaller tractors they are not the strongest. I also didn't make it with trip springs to keep the build simple. I figured as long as I'm somewhat careful I shouldn't brake or bend nothing.

I use a converted truck plow on my FEL,eight ft.It does have trip springs and can be angled. No problems on my tractor.I am the only operator.

I use my TC30 to plow with. Works fine. I consider it my economy model! Options would be heated cab, bigger tractor, bigger plow, angling plow, etc.! But it does just fine for me. A snowblower on the front would work as well! Here is a pic I posted before. Trip springs are nice if you have frozen uneven ground to plow. I have two springs on the plow (plow hinges) at the top that work against the chain hook on my FEL.

I have FEL mounted plow for few years now and no issues.

I think it would depend on how strong the loader assembly on the tractor is. My DK45 is very stout up front. Ive used a loader mounted plow now for 2 seasons, and it has had no issues. Works great

I have been plowing snow with an angled Fel mounted plow for 8 or 10 years now.
I run a 9' converted truck plow with power angle on my 35 HP tractor.
No problems so far.
I do recommend trip springs on the snow plow.

I put a 60" W.R.Long front blade on my b2620 TLB and it works great. Here is a pic of it on the tractor cal2620.

Let us know what you think when you get that plow. There's been little user feedback on that unit.

If you don't mind me asking, what did the 60" blade cost? Im considering one on my b2920, but haven't gotten to a dealer yet

I bought an HLA, Canadian mfg. all angle plow that has a lateral instead of vertical dampening mechanism with a built in overpressure crossover valve to reduce loader arm shocks; and trip springs. It has a centered cylinder for allowing the plow to float up or down and one large diameter hydraulic piston to control swing left or right.
See my signature for more detail. It works great! Not cheap, but it does it's job without loader damage I'm happy with the results.

HLA Series 2000 7' snowplow: HLA Snow

Note: just point cursor over 'features' list or 'options' list for pic and details.

I never liked the loader mounted plows personally. Many folks on here have used them and have had great use/luck with them. I built a subframe and mounted a truck snowplow on my L3400 and used the loader hydraulics to run it. It is extremely manuverable and works very well until the snow is over the depth of the plow! You can do a search and should be able to find the build thread. I copied a user's by the name of asgar.

Im curious from your picture looks like you added a 'wing' to one end to contain the snow. How has that worked out?Ive been considering that as i get a small amount of spillage out that sie also. Thanks

Kubota and Deere both sell FEL plows. I doubt they would do that it if harmed the loader. I can't see how plowing is worse than digging.

Ive built 3 Fel mounted plows for 3 different tractors that Ive owned. Two were 5 foot plows, one being for an ATV, the last build was a 6.5 Meyers poly blade for use on my Kubota B2400 fel. Although the Meyers worked fine for the B2400, it was big and very heavy (400lbs) to move around when off the tractor. I sold this plow for that reason. Now I bought a Moose 6 foot UTV plow on an online auction ($200 and 100lbs)which I am goin to mount the the fel this year. Ill beef up the Moose by adding a couple extra ribs and a piece of angle iron welded across the top, then paint the whole thing Kubota orange of coarse.

Hello everyone my first post here and it is something started working on 2 weeks ago, I have a Yanmar 186D with a FEL and after trying to do a little yard plowing last winter, decided to get a plow. Found a 6 foot Meyers blade for 200 and in the process of fabricating the hitch up in the bucket. I am basically copying the way i have seen it done in the past. Any ideas or guidance would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to TBN...If your bucket has a quick attach I would make the blade quick attach to the loader.:confused3: Makes an easy on and off. Just my:2cents:
