Has anyone seen one of these in person yet ? Would be a great ROW machine and might be able to do a few other chores with it as well. Wondering how HD the axles are on it, curious if it could also be used to pull a batwing that was hydraulically powered. I stumbuled across this machine while looking a new heads. I have a Fecon and a FAE now and just unsure which way to go on the next one.

Made in Europe for fecon, just rebaged. I may be wrong, but that is what I hear.i have no first hand knowledge nor have I seen one in person. I would be curious to know if everything is metric.

I like the idea of the mid mount engine and wrap around visibility. The all wheel steer is probably nice ( I use it on a Bobcat toolcat) but I really like the compact size versus power. At only 18k lbs with a head, it probably won't get stuck too easy,. Wonder how much they cost?

I saw this unit in Moultrie this year. Very nice unit. The one they had at the show had a backhoe style boom on it with CM36, so on the front you had a conventional mulcher and on the back a boom mower, best of both worlds. Everything I saw was heavy duty. Go to the shop and see one!

We have been running and testing the Fecon RTF230 for the past year. The Tractor is made in France shipped to our factory in Lebanon, Ohio where we add the Fecon Bull Hog Mulching head, plus other changes for the American market. We will be doing high temperature testing in January and the unit will be available for demonstration shortly after that testing is complete. Feel free to contact me for further information.

I've been kicking round the idea of buying the 128l, suppose to be demoing it when I get some free time. But the extra horsepower of the 230 and the weight being nearly the same as the 128l, the 230 may be a no brainer depending no how it cuts. Maybe TEC can get a 230 to demo also to compare them

I too saw that machine and it really got me thinking. I turn down a lot of large mulching jobs because I have a small machine.
If I have the opportunity to get on a bigger project, I might look at buying or leasing a larger machine like the 230. I like what I saw so far on the size and weight. Some of the big barkos and prentice machines are just too big with a big old butt on them for what I like to do. The new CAT machine is a beast, too, but it's huge as well.

Tony.. my wife says you are only as old as you feel. I'm only 45 and some days I feel 25 and others I feel a lot older! The smell of new equipment and the piece of mind of a warranty makes me wish I was 20 years younger knowing what I know now and sitting in a fancy new machine...so I get what you are saying. Funny thing was, 20 years ago I had a fancy new machine with a 3 year warranty and it was still in the shop all the time along with my truck!!! That aged me probably more than anything.. having to make excuses. I finally ended up owning two identical machines so that if one was down, the other was up. I was busier then than I am now and I could justify that. I do think the newer machines are becoming more reliable especially for the market we are in. You are in a bigger class but the basics are the same...it's rough work on machinery. I think the OEM's are figuring that into the design/maintenance formula and the machines are lasting longer.

How are you guys doing high temperature testing in January in Ohio ? How proven are these carriers ? Has this unit been out in Europe for a while ? How hard would it be to get parts and service on this unit once its out in the field ? Lets face it the heads are close to bullet proof but the carriers all develop problems. How does Fecon handle their service on a carrier like this ? Our Fecon dealer here are great people to deal with on parts, but they are a small dealership and doubt they would know the first thing about a dedicated carrier . When will this unit be on display ?

The testing is being done in S. Florida. There are about 100 of these running in Europe with different configurations of attachments. We have the rights to build the unit in the US, parts and service is what we have done since 1992, we work with local dealers and support them with our field service people in Ohio. We think this unit fills a nitch, it can support various hydraulic attachments, mulching heads being one but also a rear boom type mower. I'm not sure where you are located? We will have the unit at various shows throughout the year, however we will be doing demoes as well. Call me or email me at fplotts@fecon.com .

No offense but the testing should be done in Central/South Texas, on cedar, in the summer. That will show you the strengths/weaknesses of a machine. If it can mulch in the thick cedars and rock without getting hot or catching on fire, then you know it will work anywhere. I think we have some of the toughest mulching conditions anywhere in Central Texas especially in the summer.
