Mowing exhaust pipe discharge

I am shopping for a new tractor looking at the Kubota L series noticed the exhaust pipe discharge is low near front axle. (I am use to the exhaust pipes coming up through the hood.) I am concerned about starting a fire in tall grass with it's location. especially with the new tier 4 system. This was on an L3901. Would appreciate you thoughts and experiance Thanks

You can fit a 'Spark Arrestor' or you can fit an 'Upswept Exhaust' Kit.

Never heard of a diesel engine exhaust starting a fire. That's one reason I like my diesels. I can go though the worst of things and not worry about it; haying especially where the crop is ripe for the plucking...never a problem in 30+ years of haying. My 2000D exhaust is bent down at the tip which is behind the rear axle. The 2400 exhausts straight out too.

My Grand L3560 exhaust is on the drivers left along the side of the motor down low. It's coved with a vented heat shield to help prevent contact issues. Spark wise i am with texasmark on thinking the diesel exhaust is likely to be a fire problem.

The L's I looked at have the venturi type cover on the exhaust tip to help draw in outside air and reduce the exhaust temp at the outlet, like you would see on a Ford or Chevy diesel with a dpf.

Spark arrester would also help.
I haven't seen reports of dpf tractors causing fires. Doesn't mean it hasn't happened, just haven't seen it brought up.

I have L2800 side exhaust yet to have problem mowing hay etc.I don't leave the tractor running should I stop either while mowing.
