So I got a line on a old 4wd B7100 I'm kind of fond of old orange painted iron, with rusted patina. preliminary reports from a buddy are it has a less aggressive tires not ag, not turf and not r14 ,no loader and believe loaded valve nvr had one I believe. but has mid pto and a gear drive transmission. Hasn't been ran in years.stored, out doors Luckily vertical exhaust pipe was covered with a coffee can. Didn't get the run down why it's not used anymore nor do I know the mechanical skills of previous owner. Best case why it's not running is wiring which report I got is a rats nest with possible faulty fuel shut off solenoid. I've learned how to make one failing work seemingly indefinitely that problaby should have been replaced on my 2850 yrs ago. When I go look at it hopefully in the upcoming weeks I'll bring a new old battery some wiring and components I have on hand, check all fluid levels, including what inside of fuel tank looks like, check top of oil cap for slimy gunk possibly indicating head gasket failure, open air filter making sure it hasn't been infested with rodents before trying to start it. End result of I do buy it won't be a restored show tractor merely a somewhat reliable and mechanically maintained tractor using the reportedly working tph for smaller implements and rear and mid pto which was reported to be in working condition. . it comes with a mmm mower deck but is reported to be in scrap yard condition.hoprfillyvall linkages and mower brackets are still with it. So my questions are is there anything else I should be checking on that series of older b series kubotas. I believe the older ones were over built anyway. Hr # unknown nor is any pm history. Figure for the price of it if it has serious problems I don't want to spend lots of time and money on I could get most of purchase price by parting it out and a few leaks aren't deal breakers for me anyway. Apologies for long winded thread but I truly appreciate insight and experience by owners of older Kubota b series tractors. Definitely I'm not a tick tock Darren type buyer especially on old cheap stuff. Apologize again no pics at this time but don't want to show what I found to other potential interested buyers. Lol
