Exhaust flapper

I've always kept a flapper on my exhaust for water and mud dobber wasp, what do the new tractors have to keep the annoying mud dobbers out?

Nothing. Mud dobbers prefer the keyholes on open station vehicles.

Really you mean I'm got to cut that curved snout and put a flapper on? The wasp will bring mud in and build around an open valve and screw things up. Even my little hose on my water separator was clogged, same with crank case vent hoses have to put screen over the end and Panduit tie them on. Everything I store you got tape the opening, even the ground hole in outlets.

They love to get into every hole and crevice on my boat, but so far they have left my tractor alone. It's stored in a barn most of the time. Come to think of it, they've never been a problem on my truck and that stays outdoors all the time.

But man, on the boat, they are relentless. The boat has a lot of 1/4" and 3/8" drain fittings to drain cupholders, rod holders, etc, and the mud daubers will get into those from both ends. I have to snake them out multiple times during the summer. They also like getting into the outboard motor's coolant "pee" hole. That can actually be bad news, as coolant flow for the fuel injection pump passes through there. So I have to verify it is flowing every time I start the motor. If not, I keep a length of weed-whacker cord on the boat to snake out the coolant passage.

I'm glad I don't have that problem... we got them up here, but they see to only like to nest on passageways.

They did however clog up a blowtorch I had sitting in my shed... they are friggin weird animals...

I bet if you check radiator overflow and rear diff vent they are plugged
