Wish I had documented this better but thought I would share. This area had a small creek with a channel about 5 feet deep and with about 6 " of water during normal periods. Obviously it's pretty low, as the creek empties into a bigger river just 30 yards away. I wanted to be able to cross the creek with a vehicle so I put in a culvert. I used a plastic pipe about 4 ' in diameter and 20' long. Wanting to do this with a very low budget, I used only my Kubota m 6800, a box blade and my grapple, and a bucket. It's not ideal, but it at least lets me cross the creek.

I uprooted many trees and privy hedge, moved some very large rocks to anchor the pipe, and drug lots of dirt with my box blade. Finished it by planting some millet and clover and ran over it with my cultipacker. We'll see how it holds up, but at least I can drive across it in drier weather. The grapple is just amazing in clearing land. Of course, I really needed an excavator and a dozer, and truckloads of gravel, but at least this was free and I did it myself in two days.

Thanks for sharing. I need to place a culvert, good to see what other folks have done.
