I would suggest if you don't like EA's delivery time then don't buy their product. I'm sure their company will still have a backlog of customers that are eager to use their product.

The advantage of paying now and waiting is as EA states:

I literally saved $500 by paying in March of this year when I ordered instead waiting.

This post is.......interesting. Had EA delivered your product upon receipt of the funds, then whatever you think you saved would be a moot point. An absurdity.

As to not buying their product? That is always a consideration. When someone comes out with a similar product for the same money and can deliver it on time, then EA will be quickly forgotten and swept into the dustbin of the history of good ideas that couldn't deliver the goods.

What do they say in football? Your most important ability is AVAILability?

In EA's defense, it isn't just the lack of materials, it's the lack of workers. As in, nobody wants to. So yeah, they're in a tough spot; one not of their own making.

So I understand their problems but I'm not going to make excuses for them. I am also not going to let somebody sit on hundreds or thousands of my dollars interest-free for Months at a time. Especially when the only guarantee against them suddenly filing bankruptcy and the owners heading to Switzerland is an aw-shucks and a wink. I'm looking to buy a tooth bar because I want one. Right now. Not in 4 months or 2 months or whatever.

Point being, EA needs to get their act together. No excuses. I don't want to hear it. When they can take my money and ship within a day or two..... Maybe then. Until that time, I'll look for alternatives.

Thanks for the tasteful debate, guys. We're here 8-5 m-f, at 828-464-1200, and a real person will answer and assist if you have any questions.
I try to keep up with TBN comments/messages.
I keep up with our YouTube Channel comments, where we frequently post product updates, testing, and factory tours.
I keep up with comments and messages on the EA Page on Facebook.
I keep up with comments and messages in the EA Channel Facebook Group.
I keep up with comments and messages in the Wicked Grapple Group.
Guys send me private messages via my Travis EA facebook profile all day long.

I think we're the most transparent, accessible company in this industry, and beyond.
Again, I understand frustrations, and we're doing what we can to push orders out, without settling for a lesser material, lesser design, or lesser customer service.

Thanks to everyone for your business, and for following along!! You guys are what makes us, and we will treat you like family, even though some of the family doesn't like us very much because of this.
Travis

You can really pretend to know every situation and assume they can all conform to that?

@EverythingAttachments. Don't want y'all to give away any trade secrets, but any thoughts on building or buying a factory a bit further west? I could see a benefit to you buying a struggling manufacturer maybe in Kansas or Nebraska. It wouldn't fix the short term supply problems, but it would increase production and enable cheaper shipping to big markets like Texas...;)
The issue is getting the materials/steel. They have increased production capacity but it only helps when the steel is delivered to them. When the steel arrives they cut and weld up hundred's of order's at a time.

Actually I think the overriding issue is communication.
People know up-front it's going to be 12, 16 weeks.
It's when it gets to 16 weeks and only then do they find out it's going to be another 12.
That's why I think they should update their customers monthly, to let them know if the schedule is slipping.
Then the customer can decide if it's still worth waiting for - and I think most everyone here can agree that yes, it's worth waiting for - people aren't upset at the quality, they're upset at sudden news that what they thought was coming in July isn't actually getting delivered next week but instead in September. Forgive them for wondering if it's not going to be January, given the lack of updates!

I'm not sure what "act" they need to get together as you stated their lead times are not of their own making. Obviously we customers are all going in on this with eyes wide open knowing the long lead times. Why are you so surprised?

If you can find a superior product that you can get within a week I say go for it. Just let everyone else know on the forum because I haven't found one yet.

I'm talking about business, I don't know what you're talking about.

I won't do business like that.

In Soviet Russia a Man Goes to Buy a Car...

renderTimingPixel.png

He goes up to the agency and asks for a car, to which the apparatchik responds:
'You know there is a 10 year waiting list?'
The man then answers, 'OK,' and after some time he then agreed to buy a car.
So he pays for the car in advance, and just before he leaves he asks,
'Can I pick the car up in the morning or afternoon?'
'It's 10 years away, what does it matter?'
'The plumber is coming in the morning'.

I’ll wait patiently for my grapple to arrive but I should not have to call you or email you to learn that you have systemic problems and my order will be delayed. Particularly after I’ve waited, without bothering you about it, until past the “or so” quote you provided.

It’s your job to keep customers informed of extraordinary circumstances - I have done it almost every working day in the last 3+ months.

Putting regular updates on your website seems reasonable to me.

Which is 100% why I said it will not solve the short term problems. Once the national issues relating to steel availability and employment are corrected, EA will likely still have a lot of demand and a lot of us live west of Arkansas.

The problem is one related to national policy, not company logistics. I don't blame EA at all.

My question is still valid, purchasing or building a facility closer to the center of the country would help them capacity-wise and help us Cost- wise.

And then they can have more overhead, more management, more opportunity for miss management and either grow or collapse.
Staying in one location allows them to have a bit more control then having two or more locations does.
They have already expanded building wise when labor and materials get back in the flow I would expect things to improve for them and there customers. A lot of complaining about things that couldn't have been anticipated and planned for.

I guess I am confused. I wasn't complaining at all. The overhead would be miniscule compared to the potential increase in sales. The longer they are successful in the market, the more likely a competitor learns their tricks and makes a similar product with a better geographic footprint. Standing pat is more likely to lead to a demise than rational measured expansion. Once I get my tractor, I will likely order a grapple from them. I have no problem with the prepaid model as the company has to pay upfront for the raw materials. Once they are bigger, they can probably shift to a half upfront model or one where customers who PIF get a price break and/or higher priority compared to customers using a down payment or credit card hold.

I went past the EA facility today. The site is undergoing some substantial excavation which I suspect points towards further expansion in Newton. I'd say "standing pat" would be an uninformed opinion of EA.

I miss the EA shop tours they were doing on Fridays on YouTube. Least then I might get to see what they were doing for that week, maybe even spot my order number. But apparently, with EA not having the materials, they dont have time to video?

Guy's just be patient , it will get there , and once you see it ,
You will appreciate the wait. I got my 55 wickeder root Grapple
today , I paid extra and had it delivered right to my drive way ,
and used my JD 2520 and pallet forks to set it off. the Quality seems
amazing , and yes the wait was long , i ordered on March 28th , and
it came today , Travis was very nice , i would call him every 3 weeks
and pester the crap out of him..;) till it got here. I had a wrong fitting , Called 5 mins after the truck left , and he said it would be in the mail ASAP. I am very happy with it , Now to install My Diverter
kit and do some work. Here is a few pics of my new Toy.... :D

Quality is what has gotten EA to who they are today. I hope the pressure of trying to make up for the shortage issues does not lower the quality of work. A few welds are starting to look rushed.

Everything is cyclical. Just ask the people in the lumber business. Those who paid big bucks for lumber a Month or so ago are hating life about now.

Sometimes the best thing you can do is just wait it out. Trying to 'time the market' is mostly a fool's errand, it's just that you can't panic every time there's a price increase, a shortage, or a run on something.

Same thing is gonna happen here. Competition will appear out of nowhere, demand will slow, raw material prices will drop, people who actually need to pay the rent now will be looking for work...... It's all cyclical.
