Hi there folks! I'm nearing receiving my new tractor and am getting ready to order some implements. One of the implements I would like is a rake - unfortunately with a grapple and carry all from everything attachments already decided on funds are getting tight.

What are the differences between these two rakes? they both seem to be quick hitch compatible and have the ability to sit off to the side of the tractor.

thanks!

Regular: Landscape Rake for Compact Tractors
XtremeDuty: Everything Attachments Brand Tractor 3 Point Hitch, Category 1, Landscape rake, Root Rake, Rock Rake, York Rake, available in 60", 72", 84", and 96 inch sizes, Free Shipping within 1.000 miles!

They are basically the same other than one is built with more steel. Take a close look at them, the hitch, the tube that is above the tines, the boom, all bigger stronger on the Xtreme unit. You get what you pay for, it all depends on what and how it will get used as to which one you need for your conditions. After pretzeling a std duty unit myself, (not an ETA unit) I would never have anything other than a heavy duty unit myself.

What tractor are you getting?

I bought the 60" Landscape Rake for Compact Tractors from ETA. I'm very satisfied with it. I considered it to be worth the extra money compared to the units you can get at TSC. I have a B2620 and it matches my tractor very well.

I'm getting a kioti DK40SE (40 horse) which weighs in around 4400-4800 pounds with loaded tires.

Thanks for the info so far.

Well your kioti is a much heavier tractor and has more HP than mine. It depends on what you are going to do with the rake and how tough you tend to be on equipment.
The one I have is rated for 50 HP.

Its your call but if funds are getting tight, you might consider the one for the compact tractors. Afterall, it is much better made than the ones at TSC.

I've never regretted buying heavier duty but always regretted light duty. Save for the better one

Ooh, offsetting rake. Nice! I'd definitely go extreme as even the fixed ones are easy to tear up.

Call Travis at ETA... they are very willing to help size and match up equipment. He will do his best to help you decide.

Nothing breaks you heart like turning a new implement into a pretzel. Save up and get the extreme duty. I turned a light duty disk harrow into a pile of junk with my new Kubota. I'm now looking at getting a Brown disk harrow. Of course, the big rocks I tried to disk into small lumps of dirt didn't help matters either.

You're getting a nice tractor that has some power along with some weight. Do yourself a favor and end up saving money in the long run and just save up for an extreme duty 96" rake.

A long time ago I took my dealers word that the landscape rake and the rear blade that they were selling me would be fine. Well, that was $1800 basically flushed down the drain. Live and learn. By coming to TBN, hopefully you won't have to learn the costly way. ;)

I can't argue with any of the advice given. I just want to point out that the TSC 6' rake is $400. The ETA compact tractor rake is $647. ET A'S is much better made. It is not junk. That said, the extreme duty is made with even heavier material. Both have offset settings.

If you go to ETA site, there is a video explaining the differences between the extreme duty and the one for compact tractors up to 50 HP.

That video should help you decide on which one you want to buy.

I can vouch for the ETA xtreme duty rake. I bought one a few month back and use it on a NH 4.75 without any issues. It's built very well.

I bought the TSC model earlier this year. You can buy it from me for $200, then ill buy a good one. You get a very good discount for a pretzel TSC rake.

I don't think anyone who has posted besides me has actually used the ETA Landscape Rake for Compact Tractors. If you watch the video on that page he explains the design. He even says that for up to 50 Hp, this rake is extreme duty.

I have used it and it is very well made. Get the 84" with the offset and you will be fine.

I think some people are comparing the TSC models and they just don't compare.

Good luck with whatever you choose.
