Need to change oil filter @ 100 hours on 1999 B2710. How to remove left side engine cover for clear access to oil filter? Appears to be attached with some sort of v clips. Use angle needlenose pliers to squeeze clip together & pull up or ??

Hi NewB,

Just grab ahold of it with both hands at the top close to the clips and give it a sharp tug towards you/away from the engine. It should pop loose. Mine were kind of sticky so I adjusted the clips and lubed them with lithium grease, now they don't give me any more trouble.

If you can't get it loose with a tug, you can squeeze/spread the clips while you pry with a big screwdriver.

Good Luck

Thanks so much for your reply - Just a little grease, then a tug and the panel came right off - seemed too simple. Had already changed transmission fluid & filter, so now I can complete the 100 Hrs maintenance with the oil filter change.
