Electrical trailer? connector

There is a six pin female connector on the back of my LK2554. It came from the factory that way. It appears to be hooked up to the running lights like a trailer hitch connector. Does anyone know where I can get the mating connector? I would like to use it to power a 12V spreader and/or work lights.

Is it a round connector? I have a round female connector that is hanging on the inner left fender on my CK20 that i have no clue what its for.

I just got my 3054 this morning and noticed the same connector you wrote of. That looks to be a trailer connection for the lights. I've seen some adapter at the local Agri Supply here in VA. I'm also going to see if I can find an adapter to go from the tractor connection to a 4 way flat so I can hook my trailer lights up to it. Let us know what you find out!

Thanks for the replies. Yes it is a round receptacle with a square six pin female connector inside. I researched the wiring diagram for the tractor and the wires appear to go to the signals, tail lights, flashers and brake lights. Also there are some wires for backup light option and work lights. Thats about all I know. I would like to find the mating connector if anyone knows what it is.

I was told by my dealer that he has never been able to find a connector in the states that will mate up with the connection on the tractor. Would be nice to have one to just plug in without having to retrofit another.

If it were me, I would just run down to SuperK and BUY a new standard male connector that matches with all the other trailers on hand rather than getting a dealer involved with their retailing pricing schemes. Cut off the Kioti connector & replace. It don't get no simpler than that.

J.W. I think you give very good advice. Replace both sides with something that can be found. The connector that
is currently there, doesn't look all that robust anyway.

I concur with Shado in it would be a lot easier to do a conversion on the Kioti than have to convert everything you need to pull.

That being said, I'm having a hard time imagining the connector you said you had since it has both round and square features. I came across this trailer connector that sounds kindof like what you were talking about, but again, was unsure. Assuming it fit (or if you find another one that fits) you could make you an adapter to go between your Kioti and trailer(s) -- something about 12" long with your Kioti connector on one end and whatever end you choose on the opposite. (You could even make a single adapter that had Kioti on one end the most common other types on the other end -- say 6, 5, & 4 pole connectors for example. That way you could hook up just about any trailer without any additional adapters.)

The more I research this, the more I think the advice everyone is giving is the right way to go. I just got done talking to my dealer who said that they have never hear of anyone using the connector and that I would need to talk to the factory. I called the service folks at the NC facility. They said that they have never sold the mating connector and wouldn't know where to get one. He told me that Daedong manufactures the tractor connector themselves. He also said that he thought there was an adapter available through normal outlets. He referred to it as a seven pin connector even though I only see six contacts. The outside housing is metal and round (about 1.5" in dia.) It provides the locking feature. The plastic connector inside the metal housing is about 7/8" long and 1/2" wide and has 6 flat contacts. The plastic connector is also slightly rounded on each end and has what appears to be a small square on the bottom either for locking or keying the connector. I guess I'll take a look for the adapter and then if that doesn't work, I'll convert it over to a standard trailer configuration. Thanks for all the input. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Hmmm. Attached is a picture of both the male & female ends of a 7 pin connector (commonly used on travel trailers & such). The 7 pin is nice because it allows you to put accessories on your trailer (like backup/aux lights, for example). You could convert to one of these and then use an adapter (they make 'em) to go to 4 or 6 pole plugs (or you could always fabricate whatever type of adapter you needed.)

The tractor connector is rectangular with 6 six flat contacts 3 on top in a straight line and 3 on the bottom in a straight line. The connector you show might be a great replacement for the one on the tractor. Thanks

Well, I took the advice of the forum and added a new 4 pin connector next to the existing one. I moved over the Yellow (option) wire and black (ground). The neat thing about the yellow wire is that there are two connectors in the harness in the dash board that mate up to a switch that I installed in a blank plugged hole in the dash. The harness from Kioti has the two connectors on the yellow wire taped to the harness unless you need them. I can now use the new 4 pin connector to power my spreader and maybe even some work lights switched from the dash. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I talked to my dealer about the connector when he delivered my tractor,he said he had an adapter for it.I was just curious after reading this thread.At this point I don't really have any use for it ,but it would be nice to run a set lights for the back.I plan on getting a rear snowblower some day.
