Electric Fence?

I bought this one - after I kept losing or misplacing several others. It seems to work - and it also provides information on how much the charge is - unlike the ones that just light up. So far so good.

Did it perhaps ship with the battery disconnected?
Is it clicking when you turn it on?

No neither one is clicking. I did take the battery out of the Zareba and put it back in. So, I know it is hooked up. But did not look at the other battery but guess I should. But again, neither one is clicking. Oh, it lights up the battery must be connected,.

I just brought it in the house and banged it around a little. (how I fix most stuff) Believe it or not, it is now showing voltage & shocks to the touch. But the shock is not real offensive to me. Just touching both terminals, not like standing on the ground touching it,. and a deer has four feet on the ground. Will put it back on the fence tomorrow and see what it does.

If you are not getting much of a shock touching both terminals you might better just take it back.
It's not working.

If you takeing your stuff back for refund consider these options . Once again most "big box store" fence chargers are generic junk . Theres an option here cheap you can run with a deep cycle . Or charge it on occasion with your long run.

Did you check the battery voltage while you had it out?
Not sure how that one is setup but the solar charger we had (granted that was 25 years ago now) clicked just like the plug in ones do.
