Pulse brakes stopped working from the pedal last week. I can still get them to engage if I use the slide on the controller. The controller is less than a year old so my first thought was not that it was bad, but what else can it be?

Check your connection for the brake light signal from your truck and the ground connection. On most controlers Red is truck brake signal, White ground, Black power and Blue goes to the trailer. You could have a blown fuse for the truck.

If the slide works it says the trailer and 99% of your wiring has to be good. Its either the red wire connection bad or a vad controller.

i agree. if slide works.. brake power out, V+ and ground are good. that leave sense line.. or the brake switch. or the controller..

your brake lamps still work? :)

( and does the slid emake yer brake lamps come on? )

The brand of controller would help diagnose. Almost all have some type of gain control. Could you have accidentally turned to zero?
