Dump trailer D-rings

Anyone else have problems with the rear D rings on a dump trailer.

My last two loads with the dump bed all the way up refused to dump because the load was hung up on the two rear D rings.
I couldn't move the obstruction as it was too wedged in and even if I did I would be under an avanlach of debris if I did break it loose.

I had to lower the load clear the jammed piece being stopped by the D- rings and re dump the load.
The line of other people behind me were not happy.

Any solutions besides cutting them out? I do like them there when I move equipment in the dump trailer.
Putting in recessed D-rings would be a pain but if that's all there is?

I'm thinking of fabricating some sort of a metal ramp so when the loads hits the D-ring it might defelct over the ring?


Any ideas would help.

A buddy had them mounted to the side walls up about 6-8". Not Ideal for a major tie down (putting that load on the walls) but he's mostly tying down building materials or other light loads. He has the fold down sides.

I was wanting to weld some D-rings in my dump truck bed. I might re think that idea.

That's simple. My D-rings are similar except instead of oriented North/south like yours, it's NE/SW. So far, I have broken the stubborn loads loose by going in reverse then braking hard, or accelerating forward hard from a dead stop.

I used to have that problem. But not since I ran chain around three sides of the dump trailer. I put the chain in place so I could easily tie stuff down anywhere. But as a side benefit the chain guides the crud up and over the D ring.
