Drought Phemomena

Here in S.W. Ohio we have had almost no rain in 12 weeks. The lawns are all completely brown. Except, wherever a trench was dug to run an electric line, phone line, or water line there is a strip that is nice and green. This is noticable in our yard and many other yards. Wuz up wit dat?

Could it be hydro seed? It's green and stays green for a few weeks..

Alternately the soil is not compacted so may grow grass better than areas that have been compressed over the years.

I mis-read your subject line... thought it said drought pneumonia! /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif If drought brings pneumonia then a bunch of us folks along the western gulf coast will certainly be healthy for a while after the nice soaking we got from Tropical Storm Fay!/w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

I feel for all you folks who are catching the heat and getting no rain. That describes the last two or three summers here in southeast Texas. With fall coming on soon maybe you will get some much needed rain with the cooler weather. I hope so.

If your trenches are like my trenches, they have sunk over the years and left a slight depression.

Dew and such sits in there and makes them look nice.

Get out there and mow them cause it sounds like its all the mowing you'll get !!!
