Check your alternator voltage so your battery doesn't explode also.

Over 14.5 volts will boil some water out.

Yep - I already did - 13.5V at idle and 14.1V at max rpm. With engine off, around 12.4V.

Perhaps the Mitsu and Korean companies simply went for a deal on cheap batteries….from China perhaps? In my old JD 750 (Yanmar made), they put in a Yuasa right from the factory. That battery lasted 12 years with no problems. There are always ends to cut on price point tractors.
