I think the original question has been answered.

The thread has deviated to who makes the best.

The simple answer is, are you going to take someones word for the product or go and buy one and try it.

If you're shopping for a product and have no first-hand experience and are faced with four options with nearly identical specifications at basically the same price, don't you look at product reviews so that you can make a better informed decision?

True, lots of rants like that but then when in comes down to spending them $$'s guess what ends up in the tool box.
(Willingly or not.)

Between Stanley and Black & Decker (merged) I suggest they now own/control 80% of the tool market.
Unknown to many they also make a large majority of the house brands we see out there as well.

I do look but very often simply do not trust them all that often.
The negs I have more faith in but often suspect an overwhelming positive response especially the short unqualified positives.
A pos that includes a 'but' or suggest other limitations I have more faith in.

I call it reading between the lines!
