Hey Scott370,

We like that idea, I'll check with my local wielder, he has a little Quonset in a small town 7 miles from me, I like to give him as much work as I can, he had a piece of metal come loose and hit him in the head a couple years ago and is still suffering from it. I try to keep some jobs going his way to keep him busy and help out.

Morning Kennyd,

We'll then the only two differences I see between your grapple and mine is your tines are taller 3/8" with the pipe between them, and the grease-able inserts. Where mine is 3/8" steel but a lot more of them with flat steel between them and my unit is 60" wide to your 48" wide.

This spring I'll see what she can do, but I wanted a unit that will pick up the small rocks also and with all the extra tines this one has it will do better what we needed than the Markham unit, that is why we purchased this unit, it does have it's advantages. Have a good one.

Hey Kennyd,

Not being rude at all, the cylinder has the Chief Name made by the Bailey International (they are made in Knoxville TN). There is a bar underneath it, but for the brush and small trees and trimmings we are after I don't see a problem.

Yep I saw that it did not have the grease-able inserts but I liked the straight tines for slipping under brush and trees and picking up small rocks. We'll see how good it does in the spring time but it looks like it will do just I wanted.

I forgot the biggest reason we went with this one its over 300 lbs lighter.

300 lbs lighter than? (Make/Model)

I got one of their Grapples that mount on my bucket. It is by far the worst piece of junk I ever bought. I have rebuilt it at least 3 times. That post that holds one end of the cyl compounds the hyd pressure and bends the angle bracket. I will soon be rid of it for an Extreme root rake and grapple.

Who is "their"? Dehner Welding?

Hey Deerlope,

Can you post up some photos, KennyD I think he is talking about mine, I know our plate has a reinforcing plate on the back side but if that is a problem area I would like to know. Probably won't be a problem with us for what we got ours for.

I can not post any pics right now because it looks OK. But that post that is welded to the 3/8" angle iron that the cly is mounted to adds a lot of leverage. Mine also had the reenforcemant backup but I still bent the angle iron, At first I thought it was my fault so when I rebuilt it I used 1/2" angle iron, it twisted it again. The second time I used 1/2 angle and backed it up with a piece of 1-1/2 square tube 3/16" wall off the top of that mounting post down to the back of the bucket and I twisted the angle again. At this point I was about to give up but I took two step backwards then I realized what was going on. I used it this summer with a lot of fursturations but I knew that next spring I would have an exterme rootrake and grapple combined. Now it looks like I will have it by next month. I need it for logging and firewood processing. I will take the old one and remake it into a setup for my forks. I hope that I have explained this enough so that you understand what happened to mine. No one would ever beleive that the height of that post would help to compound the pressure that the cyl applies.Understand now that mine is a grapple that bolts onto the bucket.

Unless I completely missed the boat the bolt on units are far different from the one the OP has on order.

Nice looking grapple.

I just finished plumbing in the WR long valve and it is super easy, then put my new 4' LD grapple from Markham on and played in the rain and hail just so I could say I used my newest toy (tool)

If you live in Washington state why would not buy an Anbo?

/ Dehnerwelding Grapple dialup warning #36
I just ordered and Anbo today. It should be here around the 15 of Jan 2010. Any one that has one of them has nothing but good to say of them.

What model Anbo did you order?

/ Dehnerwelding Grapple dialup warning #38
In talking with Jeff Hudson (compamy rep) I ordered a Medium rated for 25-60 HP tractor. I got the 6" spacing, 72" wide. For the work that I will do with it and for the lift capicity of MY FEL it should work out good. It will do very little dirt work and a lot of logging. The lighter the grapple the bigger log I can lift.

I think that when you work in the brush and logging with a tractor a Grapple is one of those attachments that you wonder how you ever got along without it. I got a Anbo GRM 66" Grapple and the weight was one of the reasons I went with Anbo it weighs only 340# and is plenty strong. The LA703 loader is much weaker than the you loader that you have so you will be impressed with what you can do with it on your machine.

Mine with the QA and everything will weight in at a little over 400 lbs. I wanted a Grapple that did not have forks so to say. I want the weight as close to the pivot point as possible so I can lift more. I am looking at around 3200 lbs of lift at the pivot. I am impressed at what you have in it in the second pic.I was about to order one 2 years ago and then something came up and I couldn't.BTW how long did it take you to teach the pup how to operate the Bota.
