I'm 3 states from Messicks and I still order from them. Ocassionally, their ship cost is outta line but they always have what I need and I can have it in 2 days if I'm down.

My local dealer(s) don't stock ****te even thought Kubota's distribution center is only 150 miles from here (Greater Columbus, Ohio), Messicks is quicker. Glad they hardly ever break.

We had lots of fun putting the pieces back together. Wasn't too bad.

We actually finished mounting the head before calling it a day. Just need to install the push rods, rocker arms, valve cover and oil pump/oil pan.

Aiming to get it back in the frame by the end of the week and the two halved back together next weekend.

No greater feeling than seeing an engine rebuild cone together.

It's. Only minimized by the feeling of thinking, "what did I miss?".

:)

This picture is shown before we re-installed the crank. We are looking at it from the rear of the block on the flywheel end. As you can see, the only main bearing that stays with the machine is at the front of the engine. That is the one I had to replace and it is not a two piece bearing. It pressed out and back in.

The other 4 bearings all bolt into a "yoke" and then the yoke is bolted to the block with one bolt from the bottom of the engine in between each cylinder.

Here's hoping you're using lots of assembly lube on the dry parts during assembly.
