Ireplyed to an add for a truck this spring and the same name person answered back. This time they were in the air force and had been reasigned to Alaska. The truck was in one of the sourthern states rady for shippment. The reply read almost word for word as the the one posted on here. I asked them if I bought it could it be shipped by mail. There answer back was yes sir it is ready to go by mail. LOL

My favorite reply is that I have a friend who "just happens" to live/work/be on vacation in the next town over with a truck and an empty trailer, when can I arrange for him to look at it and he can save them the money of shipping it. Funny thing, they never respond after that.

I do the same thing, tell them you are coming to look in person or sending a friend that lies in the same location and you never get a response. Between that and the poor spelling and grammar should always set off a bright flashing sign that says SCAM.

I check the "prohibited" box on every one of these I see. That gets them deleted.

Sports car, MG B,listed on EBay owner is deployed and friend will do the transaction.
Car is about 50 miles from me.
Well It was the best restored MG B I'd seen.
All work done by pros with a complete computer printout of all maintenance.
AND, the add for sure had all earmarks of scam. His email addy also did not help (AOL). I recall that it was mainly his answers and tone of voice that convinced me he was authentic, also we were communication via EBay.

Friend of mine was ready to wire several grand for a used JD Gator to be 'shipped' to him......and it was supposed to be located in a town about an hour from here. I got to him just before his wife sent the money, and said "are you nuts ?" Drive down there and LOOK at it....we'll haul it back on a trailer IF the dang thing actually exists.

This looks to be the most recent Craigslist Scam thread so I'll post this here:
The younger generation on Reddit report a widespread rentals listing scam: Landlord asks you bring a credit report to the showing. He provides a link to get the credit report.
The point of the scam is to get your credit info which will be used to steal your identity and good credit.
The Craigslist rental listing is bogus, uses photos of some other listing etc. Apparently the listing text is so common that 'everybody' in the college-housing generation recognizes it on sight.

I cant imagine anybody, no matter how stupid, falling for these. Prices are always ultra low, and just stupidly written as stated above, like $2103. Always some BS story attached. Always going to ship. Have no idea why they bother putting the effort out.
