Well done you lot (and the Mods); it's Sunday afternoon and #6 is still going.

Didn't want to bring this up but you may have heard about the cruise ship MS Zaandam [Holland America Line] that's stuck at the Pacific side of the Panama Canal, trying to get to Florida. 4 have died, 2 more have tested positive for the virus and many more (passengers & Crew) are sick with 'something'.

Well, my Aunt is on that ship. Locked down in her internal cabin. Sporadic updates from her as the WiFi from that part of the world isn't the best.

Just thought I'd pass this on. :(

It is too bad your aunt boarded that ship before the horror stories of those other poor souls on cruise ships hit the news. An interior cabin must be just awful.

Prayers....

I can only imagine...

From what was said on the Oakland Princess departure those with outside cabins took it more in stride and I can understand why.

Keeping her in my prayers.

Funny you should say that. We went for a walk this afternoon. 4 miles. Came back and there were 3 pages of posts in this thread. Then nothing for 1 whole hour. :confused3:

The calm before the storm.... the eye of the hurricane.

The world has yet to see the wrath of this virus.

Ta for the 'thoughts & prayers' Cobbers. If anything comes up with her situation I'll let you know. Yeah, she left for the cruise at the beginning of the month before all of the travel restrictions/lockdowns/port closures started to rapidly escalate. It wasn't a 'party cruise' or 'exotic port a day cruise', it was an 'adventure cruise' to interesting, out of the usual destination places. This one to ports in South America. Yep, it's an adventure alright.

-----------------------------------------------

Our Prime minister has, within the past hour, virtually put the country under lockdown. "Stay home" unless you're essential. No more indoor gatherings of 10 (max), of course families under the same roof are exempt... common sense is to prevail. Heavy fines by Police can/will result.

As of yet, I haven't been called-up in my capacity as a Navy Reservist but I reckon that it's only a matter of time as Tassie simply doesn't have enough Police (there's only the State Police) to enforce the new social situation.

Thank the Lord that I live in the middle of 6 acres. :)

I'm a very frequent visitor to Dunkin Donuts..prob 5-8 a day on average. ... I was thinking about how many cups they fill everyday...probably 150-300 per worker ( I'm guessing ) ...they put their hand on the lid of the cup..then that lid goes to your mouth.... think about all the workers, all the cups of coffee...the incredible potential for spread.

At a buck a cup, 8x30 is $240/mo .... get a really nice coffee pot and a few thermos containers to carry with you. You could probably even find a mobile brewer.
