I'm in the market for 70 hp utility tractor with cab for our ranch. I've been looking at red and blue tractors in this horsepower class and would like to hear some comments from TYM 700 owners about their machines. I'm particularly interested in comments about performance, reliability, and dealer support.

I have the Mahindra version of the TYM700. It's a Mahindra 7010. Only major difference is the engine. Mahindra puts their own engine in the 7010. Had mine about 6 months now and it's done all I've asked. The only weak link in the setup I see is the front tie rod mounts. I have broken one. Use mine for all the work on our 170 acre poultry/cattle/goat/hay farm in KY.

Thanks for the response. How any hours do you have on the 7010?

I think it turned 120 today. Still have second cutting of hay so will have quite a few more soon.

Hi I have a 2006 tym700 and i have 194 hours with no trouble at all. i did a lot of research before buying this tractor. i could of bought the mahindra version or the montana version i thought if i was going to buy a tractor made for some one else just buy the original. my only draw back was the closest dealer is 110 miles away. i bought it anyway i got a better price than the other dealers. i did the service requirements myself it is fairly easy if you have any mechanical ability at all. it has john deere engine that is awesome. i have seven acres of land and am the envy of all my tractor friends. (when i go to the gas station i drive to it only a mile away from home it does not matter if it is a business man driving a mercedes or the farmer up the road they all walk over and admire this tractor) i also have a 6 ft bush hog a grade master road grader and a gx900 wallenstein backhoe. now i know for 7 acres this is a little over kill but it was my midlife crisis choice and with the a c and fridge and stereo i not looking back

. . . and with the a c and fridge and stereo i not looking back

Geez. . . throw in a satellite TV and a whizzinator and you'd basically never have to leave the seat. Now that's what I call seat time, baby!

Thanks for the put. At 194 hrs, you are the high time user so far! For someone with 7 acres, you sure are keep your 700 busy!
Doesn't any body have any more hrs than that? These machines aren't even broke in! It's hard to get a read on reliability and durability with so few hrs by users. Any dealers out there have any reliability stats that they can share here?
Thanks again for reponding.

hi jerry
i can only tell you this is a beefy tractor i have rented cats before and when i decided to buy my own this is a tough machine it was an easy choice. it is comfortable i am in south mississippi and the a c makes a days work easy i wish it had a swivel seat for the back hoe and a way to not be in the heat using it. it has 3 remotes, dual pto speeds i also got 5 years interest free financing( which helped me explain to my wife why i wanted such a nice tractor) to the others that responded i will post a few pictures.

The cooler is the one thing Mahindra did not offer with 7010. Looks like it could just plug in if I bought one from a TYM dealer. Although I believe that circuit is used to power the air ride seat. Do the TYM and Montana versions have the air seat? I have to say I like the 3 pt arms better on the TYMs. The 7010 has the quick change like the new higher hp TYMs. I'd take the extra 2 years warranty and would have loved to get the 0% financing but the TYM dealer network is non existent here. Also can't complain about having a tad larger Mahindra made engine. Do the TYMs have the button on the back fender to control the lift arms?

Just came from Husker Harvest days and spoke with a TYM dealer on the T700. I specifically asked if any of the machines he has sold have a lot of hours on them yet and his answer was just a couple hundred. He said he has sold quite a few of them though and there was some special pricing right now ($32,500). Not sure how that compares. Sorry I didn't get much more info or pictures.

Is that price with or without a loader?

That sounds like a pretty good price. My dealer around here is asking $37,000. He's expensive on everything though.

I just turned over 100 hrs on my Montana T7074. Montana has the fridge, but no air ride seat. My wife ran a 9' Krone hay mower on it earlier this year and the last week or so I have been using it on a 15' batwing. My neighbors have the same model for about 3 years and have around 450 to 500 hrs on it now. The have not had any problems with it and are very hard on it. Their only complaint is that the air needs a small shot of freon. It is not getting as cold as it did when it was new.

yes to answer your question there is a sw
itch on the rear fender to control the three point hitch. this is a well rounded tractor. i know this might sound like a sales pitch ,but my dealer who i stated is about 100 milesaway recently called me to ask if i was happy with my desicion to purchase this tractor. he has recently opened up a new dealership which is only 64 miles from my home. so if you live in south mississippi i would strongly reccomend darrel underwood as a great dealer located in hattisburg,ms. i am enclosing a couple pictures of my tractor. i have done all prep work for my home ,pool, and shop using my tractor.

$32500 is a very good price on that tractor.
So I take it that the Montana and TYM versions have the external 3 pt control, but have the fridge instead of the air seat?
Are the Deere engines turbo charged?
Who makes the loaders for TYM? Backhoe?
Could you post a link to the specs on that backhoe and is it a 3 pt backhoe or does it have a subframe?

I gave a little less than that 32.5 for my Montana, but it was a demo and a leftover '07 model. I'm not sure who makes the loaders, but they seem very well built and handle round bales very well. The Deere engine is turbo charged.
The air on my tractor did not seem to be getting quite cold enough and the external switch was not functioning on my tractor when it was delivered. The dealer sent a service tech to my house(60 miles or so each way) to check the air and replace the switch. I was set to take the tractor back to them to check like you have to do with MF warranty work. I was very pleased that when they told me not to bring it, that they would come to me. I have never gotten service like that out of any other brand of equipment.

I like the way the loader hoses attach on the Tym in the pics than the way my '07 Montana's are. The connections are under the edge of the cab and not quite as easy to reach.

FYI- According to the website the loaders are likely made by Taesung manufactured in Korea.

There's a Montana dealer about 45 miles away from me. I stopped in there on my way to the dr the other day to check his price on a NEW 7074. He quoted me $34,000 with financing and $32,000 without. Plus a $1,000 cash back rebate from Montana.
