I was wondering if anyone had some hints on what I could use to clean out some used 5 gal plastic kerosene cans? There appears to be some sediment in the bottoms and I want to refill them with diesel for my tractor. Thanks in advance.

If the sediment is dried kerosene then add some more kerosene and let it soak. Then rinse it out. Maybe try a pressure washer to knock it loose. WD40 will help break it up.

I'd use a little gasoline. Dump some in, close the can, shake it and let it sit for a while. Dump, repeat if necessary.

The final rinse should be using the product you intend to store in the cans

Castrol Super Clean and hot water then rinse with alcohol, a small amount of dry gas will absorb the water.

Amazon.com: castrol super clean

Those cans will be spotless, Fred
