CK2610SE battery charging

Good Day,

for some reason my hood will not open when pulling the rid on my new CK610SE and we just had 2 days of -42 so I need to charge my battery. I assume like any other vehicle its ok to charge through the 12V accessory port in the cabin?

also if anyone has had this cheap rod not open their hood and knows how to fix

As long as the accessory plug has power with the ignition off you should be able to trickle charge.
I added a 12v sae automotive connector from the battery, out to the exterior grill for charging.

Thanks, Ya it doesn't seem to power without ignition on so thats out, luckily blocker heater was on so it started, ill run it for a while to let it charge up.

when I get it opened somehow I will definitely add a charging cable for the future.

I use a NOCO battery maintainer on my CK30HST like in the picture. Various models Available at Canadian Tire. We just had this extreme cold in Ontario and we sent it your way.

I mounted this unit near the battery and the power cord sticks out from under the front grill, Plugged in 24/7

I bought one of those on a whim and I gotta say -- It kicks butt!

Make sure you get one powerful enough for your batteries. I used it on my Wife's car, which has a good-sized AGM battery, I was impressed. Brought it back from the half-dead after sitting for 4 Months.

I have two of them now.

Most likely frozen closed once open spray the bottom seal with silicone.

I can see the starter without opening hood or removing side panels so simply attach positive charger lead to hot terminal on starter and ground to any convenient engine location

Have that issue with both of my M9's as well. What I do is, I leave the hoods on the first open notch all the time (winter) and keep the mechanism well lubed. Only a cold weather issue.

I have the big expensive NOCO Genius and it will start my 3406 Cat when the starting batteries are low, no issue. Ain't cheap however. Mine recharges on 110 or on a computer connection but the computer takes forever. Great units far as I'm concerned.

On mine, if I pull the release, you can't even tell it did -- Anything. But if you lift the hood, it's unfastened. weird

Should be able to get under it to see what's going on. I'd want the hood to open. Important, IMHO.
