THIS is not funny... but this thread got me started looking around the Southwestern VA, Craigslist and found this...

Stolen Tractor Please Help

Decided to add it to my signature, maybe it will help, maybe not, doesn't hurt.

It is NOT my tractor, I don't even know the people... but it's kinda like a lost dog... every bit helps.

Besides, it's a really nice photo... and we ALL like seeing tractor photos!!!

I've seen enough of those power chairs for sale that I've started wondering if there's some project that can be made from the parts.

The drive motors are geared down and operate on DC!
Lots of low speed torque.
Add a drum and cable
or
Sprocket and chain
And it makes for the greatest snow blower rotating mechanism.

Another use is to roll a tarp on a dump truck.

You do however need to disable the electric brake for most uses, easy!

Add a drum= homemade winch!

I'm always fascinated by some of the new products being sold on Craigslist. Warsh machines (Sherman tank ?), wheel barrels (portable wine cellar?), rod iron (do you need to press your rods?), pitcher frames (sorry, my pitchers are all on a shelf. Don't need to frame them.), real mowers (I prefer unreal ones, like Chevy 327 powered), yourinals (how'd you get ahold of mine, anyways?), trailors (Used fender hemmer or slow moving video ad ?), hydrolic silunder (I like mine over easy and using petroleum based fluid, not water). Then there's always the guy lookin for all Unwanted Garden Tractors. Fast friendly service. (I'll take it to Iron Mike's recycling and get scrap value for it and pay you NOTHING. Thanks for the free $200 worth of resale parts). Also the scrounges looking to remove your unwanted heating oil tank + heating oil (Yep, I'd rather freeze to death this winter). I need a free xxx in good to excellant condition. Because of the economy, I can't pay you nuthin'. (Oh really? I didn't not want nuthin' for it. How about $2000?). My girlfriend and I are really hurtin for money, she'll do ANYTHING for $200. (Oh yeah? Paint my house....)

As always, power chairs seem to sell for nothing if you have one for sale but if you want to buy one, people want a fortune.

My son has multiple sclerosis and we have been looking for a good used power chair for him and most people are asking about $200 less than they cost new for a 4 year old one.

Offer the guy a hundred and wait a few weeks.

One of the local doctors here came down with MS in his 50's. I was told he went on a massive dose of his choosing of some type of cancer drug they were using in Europe in a cross application to MS, and has responded well to it.

I watch CL regularly. I insert the name of nearby towns... makes sure I'm not wasting time looking at stuff 45 miles away.

I get many chuckles from CL grammar and spelling.... here's the latest:

HAVE AN 8 X 14 WALK IN COOLER ASKING 3200.00. IT IS NOT ASSEMBLED (DO TO MOVE) BUT IS IN GOOD

WORKING CONDITION. ALITTLE OVER THAN A YEAR OLD. ALSO HAVE A FEW DISHES AND STAINLESS STEAL SINKS.

(I added the smilies)

I have had the best luck with CL. I have purchased a truck, two horses, a dump trailer and my girlfriend came from Craig's List. I love it and check it two and three times a day.

I think I may know who bought that cooler.:D If I'm right, it's a guy who hired one of my brothers to put it together and make it work. My brother described some of the interesting times they had before they got it working.:D

...I have purchased a truck... and my girlfriend came from Craig's List...

I've seen some of those ads: "Good, Running 4X4 Truck. Includes trailer hitch and wench."

:D
