Okay,
I am needing to narrow down the field, and figured I would give a few of you a bit of fun choosing the tractor for me! Here is my scenario
-15 acres of mixed crop (not all row crop and very little row-crop desired)
-will be farming a bit of grass and grass seed: some hay but primarily seed harvest with a front-loader attachment.
-want to pull a no-till drill 8' is probably fine.
-want to be able to pull a nice hay machine/but not necessarily large round bales - just standard square fine.
-need to be able to handle some hilly terrain (southern indiana topography) - but most of it is flat.
-budget is not a concern, but I AM FRUGLE - meaning, I would lean towards the best bang for the buck vs bells and whistles and a shiny paint job.

That stated, if there are any imports worth considering, feel free to include those if they are best bang buck scenarios.. I imagine that in pulling a 8' no till that I need an 80hp range tractor. I am not so sure that with 15-acres that I need a conditioned cab either.. but does not matter much.

THANKS GUYS~

Welcome to the forum.
Have you consider a Massey Ferguson 2600HD series tractor. I think that 80hp is a little over kill, but I would go with the the utility class to get the weight and ruggedness needed to pull the drill. The more Horsepower the faster you will be able to get the job done.

Thanks for the reply Mike:
The only one that I can say I know would likely work is a Workmaster 65 New Holland; a friend owns one and does similar tasks. From first glance the Massey sells for 2x (used) for the same size... anyone know why? Is the NH Workmaster a bad choice?

Also, will I really need a 4x4?

4wd and lean towards 50hp, quick attach loader...

Go to the different manufacturer's websites and compare features...dollar for dollars, apples to apples, Mahindra seems to be the best value for the money, remember to compare weight, size, warrenty, hydraulics, etc...I'd recommend the 5530 4wd/FEL Shuttle or the 6530 4wd/FEL Shuttle...I kinda think 80hp may be a little overkill and might hurt your "frugal" spot ! Sure this will stir the pot a little for you in that the "Green", "Orange", and "Blue" folks will chime in !

Good luck with the choice,

Rich
