hey all, picked up a used 4410. the front tires are worn and i noticed i cant put any air in one (the stem is seized or ?) and the other, the stem is missing. i took them off last night...wow are those things VERY heavy.

can you still put air in tires that are filled?

will not filling them cause any issues if the rears are filled? dont think so but thought i'd ask.

what is the material they use to fill? how much extra is it to have filled?

i want to mow my yard with this....thats why i dont want to fill them necessarily.

It sounds like they're foam filled based upon your description. Probably to eliminate flat tires...just a guess though.
Are you planning on replacing the front tires? If so, no need to fill them.

BTW, what did you find out about the FEL problem you posted a few days ago?

thats why i'm replacing them....because i couldn't air them evenly. but if its foam....then there is no air and they should be 'equal'?

my FEL uneven issues are 2 fold I think....1.) the rear tires were 5 psi/22 psi. i've inflated so they are even. 2.) the FEL has some slop in the mounts which seems fairly common in the 430's. it is especially sloppy/loose on the left side. i'm going to get some stock and weld it in. JD wants $300 to do it

after i get the loader tight i'm going to reassess.

Yeah, my 430 loader is a bit sloppy on the left side too. Not to the point I'm going to worry about it yet.

Check out the adjustments on the frame. Two bolts each side near the front mount. They too often are not set up right at the dealer (taking shortcuts) or the bolts are not tight and they need some attention.

Here is a pic, and bolt #14 (two each side) is where the adjustment is at.

And since beenthere brought that part up, I looked in my loader manual (for the adjustment procedure) and found a requirement to check and re-torque the loader mounts...something else to consider.

Beenthere, I see the fastener (#14) on my loader and in the manual.
What I don't see is any adjustment.
Can you clarify, please?

i noticed same thing today. not sure how it would adjust.

my left side is so sloppy. time for some welding and shims. JD wants $300 to do it lol. i'll have my bud do it for free most likely. just need some metal thick enough.

Can you measure the gap you'd need to fill? Building up with weld (so you can grind to fit) might work better. You could use putty or a wad of soft metal (tin or lead), then measure that after moving the masts off the mounts.
That #14 bolt on my 430 is a carriage bolt and the nut is welded in place, so not way to adjust (that I can see). I'd surely rather try adjustment before welding.
