I had some scraps laying around and made this chainsaw vise. Set it on the tailgate, ground, bench, etc. Holds the saw steady when sharpening chains. Works great.

Nice. You do anything special to the clamp to weld to the angle iron such as heat it up first?

No. The only thing I did was grind the paint off to the bare metal and weld it with flux core wire. There's very little, if any, pressure on the weld when using it and it has held up fine.

Nice project, always like to see the creativity here.

Hey! We've got 2 echo pole-saw ends here.. Might be selling them in the spring.

I bought a rotary grinder for my drill to fit the chain saw bar when I was doing them myself. Never could do them to keep the thing from cutting a curve though.

Now send my chains out for sharpening and chipper blades.

Nice, thanks for sharing.

Yet another reason I need to buy an inexpensive welding set up and learn how to perform simple welding tasks. You have no idea how jealous I am when I see what many of your can fabricate from steel. At times, I feel like I should turn in my man-card for having no knowledge of welding.
