Canopy build

I needed a canopy on my coyote after my umbrella blew away. So this is what I did. I used the teneau cover from Toyota tundra that I got for free cut it down painted it orange I cut it to fit the 2+2golf cart cover. Built the frame out of pressure treated two by fours and 2 1/2x five inch u-bolts. So I didn’t have to drill my rops.I love it I am in the Pacific Northwest rainy side. I took the doors off for now. It cost me $100 for golf cart cover and 24 for wood.

That will work perfect, dont get much cheaper than that. I used a hood off a Landrover Discovery in my younger day.

Thanks some people say I’m cheap. I call it frugal my dad told me I got it from my Scottish grandfather. He said he would squeeze a nickel till the buffalo farted.

I like the fire escape you mounted on the front. Just joking! Nice job. I just bought my first cabbed tractor last month. Love it. Any thing to keep you out of the elements is a plus.

Down the road, someone tossed out a futon sofa-bed frame. I have it to make the framing for the canopy come Spring. Then add a dumpster lid on it.

As for a topper, some of the canopy companies actually use dumpster lids that cost around $65. They add it to a kit of hardware and charge about $700+shipping.

Here is a Deere with an identical dumpster lid as one of the canopy companies sell.
He bought the dumpster lid off of Amazon.

The hardware kits are very simple from a canopy company too.

If you are clever, you too can DIY and save hundreds.

If you look on Amazon today, tractor canopies run from $149 to $300.
