I don't think you'll be disappointed with that Yanmar Engine. They are one of the best in my book.

If they have to ship in some of your items, then the freight and rigging charges were totally valid.

Yes my quote did include the fees but it looks to be to the tune of $1751.00, if katetx paid 850 on top of her tractor/loader price we would be within roughly a couple hundred dollars of each other with my quote being the touch higher one. I just had the saleman email me the price out the door minus sales tax the day after I visited with him. Fees were not broken down on I received. Wonder why she had to pay over advertised price for tractor loader if fees were $400 and $450.

In any event, someone shopping for a CUT has to give some serious consideration to these deals! Won't happen again, most likely...

I have to admit. . . I like and trust Cabelas and we have numerous good stores in out150 radius . . including one of the giant warehouse operations for Cabelas in the U.S..
And those looking for great tractor deals . . . really have a very short term sweet spot opportunity to buy at strikingly low prices for unit and implements. You have to admit that if katetx is a rookie tractor buyer . . she sure timed things perfectly (not just good or decent).
But I have to wonder about various posters spending so much effort and concern about the detail pricing that katex got. My point is . . Cabelas has locations all over the country and only 5 warehouses acrosd the country. They aren't selling at a profit. If you think they are making money on this clearance . . then you have an unrealistic viewpoint of margins. Lets recognize that each Land Management location is trying to satisfy customer intetest yet not depth charge their store's overall profitability. There's afvettised prices which they all live with . . and then there is individual L & M store costs and commissions to resolve.
There are several variables:
1. Do they have the items in stock at the store (displays or stock)?
2. What is there individual store's cost to get items shipped to them from their regular warehouse?
3. Same question as #2 except shipping costs from other warehouses?
4. Who is the salesperson? Is it the manager or is it a commissioned lead sales professional or is ut a regular hourly employee?
5. If the store has lost their sales tractor specialists . . its a much different story . . and their need to get tjings gone is higher.
6. Like any other hardware dealer . . if they have plenty of intetest in what they have available . . they will stick to their advertised clearance prices wherever possible.
My point is simple . . katex is a rookie who came at a perfect time yo a perfect location to get a brand new fully warranteed untough product . . .probably at a store who had a scenario that needed to get it gone. When stores are going to be losing on every sale . . BELOW clearance prices . . you can't expect each location to match the perfect price at the perfect scenario imo. A few hundred dollars one way or the other is nothing compared to saving 10k , 12k or 14k. Remember . . Cabelas isnt going out of business . . just out of selling tractors. Still full warranty one way or another, still brand spanking new equipment, and still real life losses on every sale.

I am in the process of working with the local store here to find out the rest of your questions. In the mean time with regards to #5 The Salesperson is also the Power Sports sales lead. They will lose a tool in their bag to sell but still have boats, ATVs etc to sell. They seem to be commissioned but that is only the guess as I am too a commissioned sales person myself. The prices have been going steadily lower as the time goes on from what I was told. I spoke to two service individuals that have spoken highly of the tractors. The only issue they have seen have been from mistreatment.

Isn't it funny how many were saying "oh not cabelas" snd jusy a short time later there are numerous people checking and following cabelas product availability lol.
It worked out really good for you.
Without getting too detailed I recall you got the LM25 product with the fel and added the mmm.
Approximately what was the cost of that? And were there any fincing options available? I have a friend who I want to mention it to.
P.s. did you add any other attachments etc.? Is there anything you don't like about it? Anything you were really pleasantly surprised about it?

Yep, an I really didn't spend a lot of time debating what to buy. I'm not a real impulse buyer, but price was right, they had their year end clearance going on. I paid about a thousand more than anyone buying a 25hp right now, and from what I have seen, not many left..... Good number of larger tractors still out there. I paid $13,500 with tax (9.4‰) up here for the tractor and fel. I got the mid mower about 3 weeks later as I waited until they discounted it. Was really wanting a pullbehind mower, but I got thetractor picked back up, mower installed and returned to me for $785 including tax. About $1300 total discount on the mower. I paid cash. I had it, and still want to get a tiller. So far they haven't discounted the couple in NW Arkansas. So I'm waiting. Worse case is I buy different brand.
Financing was available. They had several options, 0% but with an upfront charge that I didn't want to pay. (no financing is really 0%) your friend might have to get a lm35....still good pricing on them also. I like the tractor a lot. I mowed my 2acre field that hadn't been cut since early last year and it mowed well. Pretty good Hill on about half and it worked perfectly. I've about 12 hours on it, not a lot, but no issues at all. The HST is different from anything that I have driven, but works great on a hill. Let off the pedal going down a hill and it shows right down to a crawl and stops. Great.

Which is a big part of why they are being deeply discounted. It's like they are giving you a $10k rebate (for the 55hp model) for any unexpected repairs during the normal warranty period.

The discounts being offered by Cabelas is related to their need to eliminate inventory, clear retail space for boats and atvs etc, and free up staff for selling ongoing products lines in Spring.
The discounts are not related to warranty elimination. Tractors and implements are sold with full warranties. In many cases Cabelas trained service personnel and shops will carry out the warranties directly. Possibly in a few cases they will transport the units to one of their other nearby operating service locations or a nearby TYM shop in very limited situations. But the point is . . Warranties are attached to the sales of all this equipment.

I've got a statement in writing that cabelas will facilitate any warranty work if they can't do it themselves. As long as cabelas is in existence, I'll take them at their written word. I have a 5yr warranty from Cabelas....as does everyone that has purchased a tractor. Nowhere during the sale or after did anyone say that this sale was as is where is..... Enough said on this bull$hit argument.

As long as Cabelas honors the warranty I don't see a problem. But I don't see what SR wrote to be a ******** argument either. TYM is simply clarifying that they are not responsible for warranty costs on the Cabelas tractors. Cabelas may honor the warranty in house or at their option send it to anyone of their choosing to get the repairs completed. That may be a viable choice for Cabelas depending on what work needs to be done and how far they need to send the tractor for repairs. As long as transportation costs are covered for warranty work I don't see a problem. Chances are warranty work will be minimal for most brands.

I don't doubt that they are axing tractor sales because they were losing money on them. Whether or not it's to make the company a more attractive takeover, who knows. There have been a few rumors of Bass Pro buying them out.

They're not getting out of them to make selling the company easier, they're getting out of them because they're not selling fast enough to justify the volume of marketing they consume to attract the buyers they've seduced in the last 3 years. Big ticket items are slow movers. At least with boats there's enough market slosh that people want to upgrade every few years. When you sell a tractor that meets the customers needs, they're not going to get rid of it on the same cycle as a boat and thus your cost of acquisition isn't amortized over multiple purchases for the life of that customer - it's one and done for the next 20-30 years (unless the machine is crap).
The long and short of it is that them selling tractors isn't profitable enough to keep doing it. They're discounting them to get them gone! That's cash tied up in dead weight they can't put towards buying inventory they can turn over and make money on. Simple business economics. You only get paid when it leaves.
