DDT,

I don't have a desire for a cab myself...BUT...

The black canvas came off of a rail road car, they call it a airbag. I got a leaker and used both sides of it, it is about 1/6" rubber. cuts easy, but strong. If needed I can try to get more.
Lets see- Plans umm. I did not have any, I just started and dreamed alot (day & night ).
Thanks I am very proud of it.
I took the back off and put the hoe on after work. plenty of room

Great job on your cab. You went to a lot more expense than I did on mine. If you didn't read one of my prev. posts, I stated that Northern Tool has a cab heater that connects to the engine just like a cars heater hoses do.

EXCELLENT! You just gave me another idea. Too bad I got more ideas than money.

Great job! Mcfly and I are going to try one this spring, and yours is really encouraging (even if it IS green:D ).
Question for you - did you get tempered glass all round, and if so, how do they cut the shapes? You can't cut tempered, can you? Also, is the glue-on method all you used (no screws, retainers, etc.), and how is it holding up?
On the heater thing .... my wife's suburban has heated buckets ....... ??
Whaddaya think the penalty'd be for that?;)

i personaly would go with what is called tractor glass my father owns a skid steer and he tried plexiglass it cracks in winter and it attracts alot of dust. tractor glass spiders but wont break. my fathers skid steer has runn two years with a hole in on of the windows that he made. a cut off tree limb went through the side stopping just short of his head. all we had to do was just lightly push the glass back in place and it has stayed in place ever since.
thats what i suggest really neat glass it has layers of plastic integrated into the glass to keep it from completly shattering.

I bet if you had painted the top black, you wouldn't need a heater. Maybe mount solar hot water collector on roof, with fan motor inside to blow hot air into cab thru a vent in top.

that would work well if you didn't have minus figures here in canada it would do bubkis because we get minus fourty regularly especialy in january.
