Tractor
BX2200
I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions or concerns about this idea (brain storm)? I took off the smv sign on my bx and was going to mount a metal box using the existing holes for the bracket which held the smv sign. I am going to use it for storing gloves, some tools etc.... any feedback, or is this a bad thing (kinda like ripping the tag off a mattress??) I will not be taking my tractor off of my property, so i dont see where i would need the smv sign????

If you know you won't ever get on a public road; no problem at all. A lot of tractors are sold without the SMV placard and it's up to the owner to put one on if he's going to get on the road with it.

I removed the SMV bracket, mounted a 30 cal. ammo box, adding a brace so it would not wobble so much and then mounted the SMV bracket on the ammo box.
Best of both worlds.

Jim,
In your left hand picture - What are all those drums on wheels used for?

Phil,
We call them the "little Train Cars"
They were built for the kids in our church, Actually I built 12 for my current church and 10 for the previous one.
The barrels are what sausage skins come in (hog guts), don't tell the kids that.
The wheels are from Harbor freight. TSC or Northern Hydraulics.
the first photo was the one we rented and after we started building them
When any of these places have them in stock they cost $4.95 each.
If you want any more information, let me know.
The kids have a ball riding in them, and both churchs have won first place in their town parades pulling their kids with a Kubota BX2200

Having problems getting a photo on for some reason, probably my fault, OH well I will send you one with a Kubota BX 2200 pulling them, that should get them on the screen.
Anyway, they look better with a BX2200 pulling them.
We won first prize in the July 4th parade by the way.

Jim,

Great picture, /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gifwhat fun you look to be having.

If possible, can you take a picture of where you attached the support on the tractor end? I mounted a ammo box too, but it broke the angle iron I had it on, the support is a good idea.

Thanks

I bolted the tractor end of the brace underneath the support for the seat spring (left hand side) existing hole, hate to drill holes in my bota.
The other end is placed as far away from the ROP as I could get it, better leverage.
Biggest problem is that the top link can hit the box depending on how high some implements stick up above the top link arm. Actually a minor problem, the scratches hardly show.

just ran across this thread and would love more information about making the "little train cars" to pull behind my bx2200. JimC, if you see this will you provide some more info on the construction of these cars?

Thanks Steve, I emailed my questions to you. By the way, I like the way you mounted the mirrors on your 2200. Nice looking rig.
