BX22 3pt hitch?

I finally took off the FEL and BH (boy did that help out the mowing duties!!!) and connected the 3pt hitch. I drove across the field to another barn to hook up a 48" Howse bush hog and realized one thing. It looks too darn narrow to hook up. The ends of the 3pt hitch are too narrow to fit onto the bush hog!?!? Anyone else have this problem? I'm thinking of putting the bushhog pins facing inward so I can mount it? Do you see anything wrong with that? HELP

Turning the pins in is fairly common on implements used on the BX. If you search the threads, you will find quite a bit of discussion on these topic. There is nothing to worry about with most (if not all) implements.

Is there any power problems or weight problems with this set up?

My experience with this is limited to using my landscape rake. I did not see any difference between this hook up and using a larger tractor with pins facing out. I know TresCrow and others have had much more experience.

The ends being "too narrow" - do you mean how far apart the hitch arms will spread? Have you loosened the check chains? Once the lock nuts on the check chains are backed off, the BX arms will spread wide enough for standard 26" cat I implements. If I've misunderstood the question, my apologies.
