BX serial #\'s

I'm leaving early tomorrow morning to visit an out of state Kubota dealer to see the BX and the B7500 (trying to decide) because my local dealer doesn't have a BX. I'll be buying "something" tomorrow!
In reading some posts, I've noticed some discussions about the BX's with early design fuel tanks, 3PH arms, etc.. How would I know that the BX I am looking at is a "new" design and not one that has been around for a while at the dealership? Are there Serial #'s to look for ?(and where are they ?) Anything similar to look for in the B7500? Thanks very much.

One way to tell if the most recent build version is to look at the base of the HST pedal. On the inside left at the pivot point, there should be a zirc fitting. If it doesn't have that, it is a bit older, but no easy way to tell how old. I took delivery on mine in Jan, and it doesn't have the zirc there, but it has the updated fuel tank design and the newer 3pt hitch...

Since that zirc fitting was the last of the factory mods, if it has that one, it has all three. As for the fuel tank, since it was a mandatory recall last September, I would hope that the dealers retrofitted anything on their lot. So, I wouldn't be too concerned.

The link mod has been awhile back. If your really concerned, there was a complete description on this site (would take an intense search) which gave the old and new measurements.

I myself wouldn't be too concerned. BX's seem not to sit on the lot very long! Given the inventory turnover, doubt if the older ones are still sitting around. To be sure, ask the dealer directly if the tractor has all the mods. They should be honest about it; if it doesn't they can simply retrofit on Kubota's dime.
