TYM Warranty Disaster

@bmaverick I've got to say my experiences with Kioti have been good; one key is to have a solid dealership behind you. I had two warranty claims, and my dealer was spectacular with both. Also, over on GTT there have been issues with Deere as well.

It's not a great time to be a consumer, not since COVID.

OP, I'm sorry you are not being taken care of; your dealer really should have your back- the companies don't.

I understand your pain. You are not the only TYM owner with experiences like this, sorry to say.

When I recommend anything related to a TYM product, it is RK tractors. Rural King does have issues with service of their machines, BUT they will not leave you high and dry like the TYM network did, nor allow your machine sit out for months on end waiting for parts overseas. Koiti since 2019 has been having these troubles too, likewise LS.

$40K is not something to ignore, even in today's high inflation era.
Thank you bmaverick for understanding. Just to add, when I notified my dealer in September that the new T574 was having the exact same issue as the first T574 I asked him if TYM ever found what was wrong with the first tractor. After all, he had a lot of time invested in that tractor making about 20 trips to my farm and hauling it back to his shop twice for extensive work. He replied that he was never told.

One reason why I went with a restoration outfit on a tractor with NO computer junk.

Koti has been totally hit-n-miss. It's so weird too.

For TYM, they acquired Kukje. Kukje has been making Yanmar parts for over 60 years out of Korea. These are metal and machined parts. TYM does the electrical. This is where I would have the most concerns.

Since covid, the supply chain collapsed, literally. And when supplier companies came back, they narrowed their offerings. And the companies that didn't come back, people are left stranded to band-aid their warrantied tractors as dealers and brands ignored them.

One Kioti owner found their wire-harness had a flaw and the relay was no longer offered. His machine was to the dealer several times and months on end. After getting it back and a day of use, the next day, no start and the same error code. This time he was proactive and looked himself. We found a 'comparable' relay off of Digikey. He's now happy and his down time was only 4-days!

I do not mean to come down on my dealer too hard because TYM was unreasonable with him too. TYM made him run down to my farm many times just to take a picture of the lights on the dash board. I said that the trip was ridiculous. Just look at the last picture and add 5 hours to the clock.

With the DPF light being common to both your previous and current tractor, it sure makes me wonder if there is something going on with DPF.

Every tractor I've owned has been old, big, and gets the job done at low rpm. I'm sure that it will be an adjustment to run a tractor over 2000rpm. By any chance are you in the same boat?

FWIW, here's a post from somebody with similar problems, and in his case, a solution: LINKY

Thank you for your input but my tractors are not operated in a manner that would require an early regen. Especially not 5 regens within the first 80 hours as on my first T574 or 72 hours on the second T574. No loose connections were ever found or no foreign objects. Counting the original, I think the the first tractor had 5 DPF controllers. The real point of my thread is that this is covered by warranty, my dealer knows about this 9 month old problem, he had made TYM-USA aware of the problem, I made TYM South Korea aware of the problem and there is total failure to address the problem.

Ugh. What a pain. Sorry you are going through all of this.

"DPF controller"?!?!? I didn't know there was such a thing on these kukje/TYM engines?

Again, I don't own one of these tractors, and have just started looking at my options. I thought that these models of TYM tractors only had a "passive regen" that was 100% under control of the operator, who was alerted to the need for a regen when a threshold is hit RE pressure before and after the DPF. Is the "DPF controller" the bit of circuitry that monitors the pre/post pressures, or is there more to it than that?

I think the T574 has this way more frequent issues from what I gather of the forums and user groups, it's like the DPF ECU has a bug in the communication bus. I have the N/A version of the same engine with 600h without any issue nor requested regen in 5 years. Mine is a 2019 model. A forum friend of mine has almost 1000h on his T574, he has just ignored the lights and kept working it.

That is true. It's just an indicator light. The tractor functions fine. I have the same machine and haven't had this problem at all. 75+ hours, no regen needed. I wonder if it was a bad batch in 2019.
