bx drawbar lock

Alright BXer's, I need your help. I ordered a drawbar lock from Speeco (through True Value). Part #db4130. It can't be installed. The part number is designated for Cat 1 tractors. Does Speeco make the correct one for a BX? If not what are you guys doing to stabilize your drawbars? Just received the part today so I have not yet had an opportunity to contact Speeco customer service. Thanks for all the wonderful tips I have received here already. Gerry

I just had my local metal bending shop make a couple of flat 1/4" x 1-1/2" bars, bent at 45 degrees on each end, with some 3/4" holes drilled in each end. I bolted one end to the ends of the drawbar and run a pin through the other end into the top link on the 3-pt. The assembly looks like a triangle, with the drawbar on the bottom, and the top link at the top. The drawbar always stays paralled to the ground as the 3-pt hydraulics raise and lower the drawbar.

It's great for moving my horse trailer, with a hitch ball installed. All I do is back up to the trailer, use the hydraulics on the 3-pt to engage the ball and lift the trailer tongue off the trailer jack, move it to where I want, and drop it.

Cost me less than $30.

Ed, sounds like a good solution. I understand how the bars are connected to the drawbar. Are you removing the top link and running the "pin" that normally holds the top link through the holes in the two bars that come up from the drawbar? Wouldn't have a pic by chance?
Been to Minn a number of times, daughter lives in Apple Valley, S suburb of Minneapolis. Beautiful state!
