Ford 9n2n hybrid
I have a ford 9n2n hybrid. I use an old 5 ft bush hog, type unknown. The hog quit cutting suddenly, has a louder than normal sound. The shearing pins are fine, the blade rotate but don't cut or tear. They gently cross the weeds. I think my rpms on my pto may be slower, not sure. What else can cause to stop cutting?

Do you only have shear bolts or is there a slip clutch as well?

One of my cutters has a key on the underside where the blade carrier bolts on to the output shaft. I sheared that key once and couldn't figure out why everything was turning except for the blades.

Missing teeth? Take the lid (or fill plug/breather) off the gearbox and see if everthing's hunkydory in there.
A broke/missing shear or key pin would sure be a nice alternative, though.
