WoW, You learn something new every day.
As for fliping your blade around it sounds logical,But i really could'nt tell ya./w3tcompact/icons/hmm.gif

There were some early Kubota's that did the same counter-reveloution thing with the PTO shaft. My neighbor had one. There were a bunch of immplements made especially for that situation back then.

You might be able to find a brush hog that will operate in both directions, but I would think that you may have a problem with bolts loosening up because of the reverse rotation. A dealer would know for sure.

The other thing is if they made the rotation opposite they must have made immplements to go with it, they might be harder to find and a little more expensive.

You also may have a problem with the gear box on your brush hog running backwards. Also the PTO shaft is a fine spline and smaller than normal PTO, does yours match? I know Woods makes a finish mower for this use... think it is an RM 48. Good Luck

Would it be possible to add a gear box to the PTO that will reverse the rotation? Could go on the tractor or on the implement.

My old Woods brush hog, and I think some still today, use a huge (~1-1/2") pin instead of bolts to retain the blades, so I don't think anything would come loose if you used one of these. However, in flipping the blades, you will lose some of the "lift" effect, the blade shape provides when spinning. You could just regrind the blades to reverse this. If I could find a used hog, I'd certainly give it a try.

There was a reverser made for these tractors, my parts manual shows the breakdown for it. It also converts to standard PTO output shaft. No luck finding one. If you would happen to mfg. one, keep me informed I would be interested.

I came up with idea last night to build a gearbox which will convert me from 22 mm fine spline to 1/38 6 spline and changes direction to cw.I have a buddy that is a machinist called him and he dropped by this evening he just happens to have lots of gearbox experience like this he looked at it and said no big deal to build so..I need to gather some parts and hopefully in a few weeks I will have a clockwise beaver..thanks for all the feedback I will post pics and tell how it hopefully works in a few weeks

Sounds like the start of a new enterprise. You could call the business the "Beaver Retrievers".)

Oh as far as the brushgog I figure the bolts are right hand thread and probably would come loose also that I still could not use a pile of other attachments like my sprayer and hydraulic pump etc. etc. so is a must to go clockwise..here is a pic of me and el beaver' hahaha damm old lady always taking pictures hahhaha
