Originally intended to make it all tin. The wife wanted me to do wood at the bottom and tin above it. So like a good guy I try to satisfy her. I realize it may fall apart over time. Hoping if I have to replace anything it would be the 1 x 6 at bottom. The main purpose was to have some form of windbreak the cows could get under. Now we have horses so probably gonna be too bad so sad for the cows.

It looks good, but doesn't having the walls half open reduce the effectiveness of it as a wind break?

I also have a habit [I'm trying to break] of not allowing enough of an overhang at the bottom edge of my roofs.

If that bottom edge had even 6" or 8" more length, it would help the splashing significantly, but a gutter, as someone else suggested, would do even more, and then if water shortages ever became an issue, you could put catch barrels under the[FONT=&quot] open ends[/FONT].

The walls are only half done. When I get finished staining it then I'll finish the walls with tin. Just not very fast. Sometimes grandbaby time gets in the way. If I could do it over I'd make the overhang longer but not gonna worry about it. Thanks Brandi.
