Using 4' BB last weekend behind my BX23 when I hit a buried log which stopped me dead in my tracks. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif I had the scariferers lowered all the way down to till up the dirt and loosen the rocks near the surface. The log caught on the far right scarifer onlyand caused the BB to rack to the left breaking the threaded thing that you adjust to limit how much left and right play you have on the 3 point setup. I was going full speed in low gear, too fast I suspect? How much play if any do you allow for your BB to swing left to right? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I am no expert on on rakes or anything else for that matter but you might investigate switching out those knuckle busters and go to the telescoping adjustments. There are threads on the site that explain what to buy and how to hook them up.

When I am using my chipper, tow bar, or weight box on the 3ph I set the arms to be as tight as I can get them.....there is a bit of slop but not too much.

Agree with Sandy! View this as a sign from above to upgrade to the telescoping links.

I did that on my 2200 and it tightens the whole 3PH up. Hook up is easy and it takes not much modification to make it fit.

Have Fun.

There have been a number of people here on Tractorbynet that have had the threaded adjusters break on them - including myself. I think if you look closely you will see that one of the welds let go. Luckily I have a welder so I was able to reweld mine and have not had it break again.

Mine did the same as Jims, a little zap with the wire fed and good as news.

I didn't take a picture of mine at the time it broke but that is exactly what happened to mine. In my opinion they did not prep the pieces properly when they welded them up and the weld did not penetrate. I figured it would take me less time to reweld it myself than a trip to the dealer so I never even mentioned it to them - it should be considered a warranty issue though in my opinion.

Looks like I'm not alone then, your picture is exactly what happend to mine. Unfortunatly I don't have a welder and it broke on me Sunday morning, had to make do with some chain and I was off and running again. Picked a couple up this AM from the dealer, fortunatly they don't charge to much for these, $2.38 each. Will have to investigate the other options out there. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I think you are supposed to leave a little play of about 1" or so and not keep the stabilizers real tight. especially if you are using a groung engaging implement. This is somewhere in the manual and may help prevent the stabilizers and implement from damage when encountering a hard jolt or other force. In the B series tractor links (such as the B2419) you could potentially strip the threads of the stabilizers raising the three point hitch if they are too tight.
